Karana Fletching

I am not sure what this qualifies as .. either an oversight or a request. If you view it as a request, please feel free to disregard.

I now have enough AA to start the long road of high level fletching. Because I have the option of Karana bows/arrows available to me, I wanted to see what choices I had, and am finding it very difficult to find the information in the datatbase.

There is no subcategory under Fletching for Karana 'cultural'. I thought if I looked at all items that 'use' the Surefall fletching kit, I would find the information I needed .. but I do not see a link for 'find recipes that use this'.

Am I overlooking an quick and easy method to pull up that subset of fletched items?

the Mark of Karana is used for all Karana fletching items. Search of items that use the Mark of Karana and that should find them.

Good thought .. but that doesn't work well either. For example, Steel Guardian Arrows don't require the Mark.

OK the current Recipes that are in the database have a -Restriction- field that is used to document those recipes only creatable by a certain race or class. This allows us to "filter" the recipes for the cultural recipes (and Spell Research).

It does not have a Diety in that list. It may be possible to add -Karana-... but that violates that original meaning of the field, since those recipes that don't require a Mark of Karana (your Steel Guardian Arrow example) on the final combine... but the sub-combines do require the mark.

A better solution would be to add an additional field that is just -Diety-, which would mean either the combine itself, or one (or more) sub-combines require it to be done by a person of that Diety.

This sort of solution would require some work by Ngreth... and then insertion of the diety information for the small set of recipes that would need it.

At this time, however, we are looking at the release of Gates of Discord in the matter of a few weeks... which will be a flood of new information. Having not fully caught up with all the Quest Writeups from the Database meltdown, this will take a back seat priority.

For now... searching for the Mark of Karana, find Recipes that use it... Repeatedly will get you what you want. IE. once to find the Steel Fletch, again to find the Steel Guardian Arrows.

I can see where that would be a headache because when you get into Diety you would be dealing with all items made with imbued gems, too.

I wasn't trying to make more work for you all; rather was hoping there was just something I was overlooking.
