Default After New Lands, New Profits - Bathezid Faction problems, suggestions?

Ok, I am attempting to do the crafting "epic" quest line. I have done New Lands, New Profits and am no longer KOS to Bathezid. However, when I question one of the two sarnak in the tradeskill area of Bathezid Watch, they will not offer quests, requisitions or work orders. In fact, Supply Sergeant Anuhadux says, "A Sathirin here, offering help? Once I stop laughing I'll summon the guards and have you drug away in chains!"

My faction with them is -39,750 and thus not high enough to obtain any work orders from what I have read.

The only thing I can think of that is hurting me is a racial thing, in that I am an Iksar. I only have a 34 adventure level and am really at a loss on what to do to raise faction with Bathezid enough to get the crafting writs! TIA

If you use an illusion of another race while you are asking for, and turning in, the faction writs, that should solve your problems. I can confirm that they really are racially biased up there. Any of the petrified eye collection rewards (aside from Iksar) should work. I don't know about other illusions- if you went up as a snowman or one of the Ykeshan pirates, I don't know if that makes a difference to them or not.

Hope that helps,

From what I remember at the time, they said any player-race illusion (other than iksar) should work. There wasn't a comment on other illusions (snowman, pirate, etc).

The petrified eye collections should work, though they require a bone as a reagent iirc. If you've ever done the "Missing Mask" HQ and gotten the Guise of the Deciever, that has a clickie to cast a Dark Elf illusion (infinite charges), so that would be an easy way to get around the problem.

(the issue goes both ways - the iksar won't deal with a sarnak, and the sarnak won't deal with an iksar, without illusions)

Thanks all for the suggestions. Since Troll bones were the cheapest on the broker I did indeed whip out one of the old petrified eyes I had in the bank. So glad that I now have a use for them and didn't sell them after all! If you're ever in Bathezid's Watch on Lucan D'lere and see a "troll" named Amaudia, say hi! =) I am there now doing faction writs, yay!

Yep, if you're iksar you can't do Bathezid's Watch crafting writs unless you fool them, by using the illusion of any other playable race (oddly, this doesn't apply to any of the other BW quests).

Conversely, if you're sarnak you'll have this same problem doing crafting writs for Riliss and Danak; again you have to fool them by using the illusion of any other race.

Petrified eyes, guise of the deceiver, etc. will allow you to do the writs; just have to disguise yourself somehow.

The irony is the Sathirians are KOS to me even though I'm iksar lol... so the sarnaks don't trust me because they think I'm a member of a faction that hates me too... go figure.

Kill Yah-Lei in Fens of Nathsar. You might have to kill a couple hundred, but you will get there. (Ooops. I did not see your level is 34 until after post).

For that level I am at a loss as for a 'quick' fix.
