Default Void Shard Armor (player crafted)

Word is we can craft the plate/chain versions of the Void Shard armor, at a reduced cost (1-5 less shards) than what players can buy them for on the merchant. Recipes apparently drop in the group crafting instances.

As I understand it, the recipes aren't class-limited, however. ie, anyone can do the plate/chain, not just armorers, and similarly for the cloth/leather and the jewelry. They all use Geomancy, I believe.

There are three recipe books for them that drop from the group crafting mission chests, and Mynervia is correct - they are for any class, not just armorers. The second book, in fact, is mostly accessories (jewelry, etc.), with the class armor sets being in books 1 & 3.

Nice, good to know. Think our guild's crafters are going to try and make a run at a group instance this week.

Small correction: Book 3 is a charms/bucklers/symbols book. I've seen it referred to as the "advanced jewelry" book, but it might just be the "second jewelry" book. From what I've read elsewhere, Vol 4 is the adv armor book.

In any case, I can confirm Vol 3 is *not* the advanced armor book, as I have it

Yep, I was mis-remembering. The sequence is:

Vol 1: void shard armor
Vol 2: accessories (vendor counterpart calls it Jewelry)
Vol 3: advanced accessories (vendor counterpart calls it Imbued Jewelry)
Vol 4: "greater" void shard armor

Basically, volumes 3 and 4 require not only void shards, but the items created in volumes 1 and 2, and upgrades them to meatier versions.

I've got a small TSO recipe guide linked from the front page of the site now with some details.

Recipe books are level 70 (any crafting class) to scribe, recipes themselves are level 79.
