• Help Wanted - The Kitchen Sink!

LU24 has arrived, and the dust will slowly start to settle.

It has pretty much wiped out everything in our database. We're looking for not only new recipe information for pretty much every book under the sun, but also new stats on crafted weapons, armor, jewelry, etc.

The more details, the better! Screenshots are preferred, if you're able to manage that, just so we make sure to get all the information.

Thanks for any help you can offer on this, folks. It is a LOT of information to re-gather.

Edit: any data submissions should go in the Database Update Submissions forum

if you can list what trade skills and tiers you are needing the most data for I can see what I have since I've a number of high tier TS'ers and a few lower as well =)

Unfortunately, that is easier said than done right now, as I've not had the time to add together what is in the recipe by books search already along with what is in the database updates forum's half-dozen pages of submissions to see what is still missing. Hopefully I can find some time this weekend to sort it all out.

hi

Hello! I plan on finding some things to submit to help you all out a bit. Also, if you are in need of any more data entry volunteers, please let me know. I would be happy to help. EQ Traders is one of my absolute favorite sites!

Um, how does one post screen shots. I have the knowledge to take screen shots and even the know-how to clip them down, but I don't know how to post them. So far I've been compiling Notepad files with the information for you guys (Cut and paste is my friend with apprentice skill recipies!). If you don't mind me posting in that format, I may just do it that way, since I've already got a significant amount of work done that way (don't want to waste it!)

Thanks much!

Pure-text is fine, just be sure that we get pretty much all the information that comes in a screenshot.

Generally, you can say "all recipes: Woodworking Table, Lvl42, ..." etc. and not have to repeat it (unless you want to) for that stuff thats pretty common. Just note anything that differs so that we can make the DB as accurate as possible =)

I've typed them all out... well kinda. Like I said, Copy and Paste is my friend!
I basically built one recipie description, then copied and pasted it below, just changing the details... Very easy to do with Apprentice/Adept skill recipies.

To post screen shots, go into the "Advanced" reply screen (either "Post Reply" or "Go Advanced"). In the options section below the text entry box, there is a "manage attachments" button. That will let you put small pictures in your post.

Is there any contribution an adventurer can make toward this? I've pretty much given up on crafting (although with the re-vamp that may change).

When I get back in-game I will be all over the place, getting POIs for AxP, slaughtering Nameds and such. Is there anything helpful I could do along the way?

Sure is! We're going to have a TON of items in the database with incomplete stats, as we need to have placeholders for the items when we add the recipes in. I'll be whimpering to get a custom search set up so that folks will be able to search and find items labeled as "incomplete", so they know what we need submitted still. When this is ready, vendor-diving to find items/stats and/or using Linky to pull up stats to give us would be a "happy thing"

Since I'm not sure when the very overloaded House Ogre will be able to set up a query for it, and I never know when someone is going to run out of "oomph" in the middle of something, I am loathe to assign anything. However, there's nothing from stopping folks, once the query is available, from posting in the database updates submissions forum, claiming certain parts of the alphabet or something.

Oh, and from our links page, here's a link to Linky:

Here is a crude list of missing books. I took a list of all possible books (regularly numbered ones, no quested ones), took out those that showed up in the "recipe by book" section, then deleted those that has a posting in the submission forum. Please note that I did NOT read each of the posts carefully, so some that are not on the list may have missing info. Last item in the submission forum is from July 27.

Help from "Hungry Trolls"

My GF and I have recently found ourselves back in Norrath in EQ2 and are loving the current TS system. Would you prefer folks to link the images into a forum thread or to post them into another location "photobucket" for example and just post pages of the links?

Also, I am planning to create a MySQL database and web front end for our own use and that of our guild(I am learning LAMP server, and this is a great way to flex my Linux muscle), but I would not mind helping out in any project that is beneficial. I have used this site SO much in the past I seriously would like to help out if I can.
