    [original post]

I've been constructing a new foraging table: ** Link removed, see above **

    1) Anyone remotely interested in seeing this?
    2) I'm doing zones as I need to forage in them, any request for specific zones?

    Just thought I share.

    Western wastes, Temple of Veeshan.

I'm not convinced that it's better to forage in ToV over WW even though WW has a larger forage table.

Me likey! Keep up the good work!

Other zones to consider (for the brewers of the world): Eastern Karana, Qeynos Hills, Erud's Crossing.

Also, I'll assume this was with a 200 skill forager?

Have you considered comparing results with and without a foraging machette equipped?

I do a lot of foraging on my druid. Do you want external data?

          Kael would be good

I hear it is better for tufts of dire wolf fur. I would be interested to see.

I think I should start doing this myself too.

As for LF that seems right I always seem to get more morning dew then Sylvan berries

Another neat one would be Field of bone lichenclovers are foraged there too I wonder if you can get more then in Firona vie?

            Nice work.

Are you sure Lichenclover is not sellable? I seem to remember buying some off a vendor in FV. I know Lichenroot is not sellable.

            Here's some (fake) data:

Plane of Knowledge: Roots - 99.999999999999999999%

Thank you for the response, I'll proceed to do these zones for now:

              Western Waste
              East Karana
              Qeynos Hill
              Erud Crossing
              Kael

Soul, last time I check, my druid could not zone into ToV. She was 44 back then. What is ToV level limit now?

Chase, this was done with my druid, 200 +10% foraging (that's with the machette). No I wasn't planning to compare with vs without the knife.... hmmm, may be I should.

Cat, I'll take external data. It would be good to have the table fill out. Then we can cross verify later. I know a lot of the info on the EQT page is already wrong. Please re verify all the flags (lore, stack, etc.)

Brody, no lichenclover is not sellable ... to a bazarr vendor. Let me know if you manage to sell it to a vendor.

Ah... I forgot to check last night. My halfling was too busy going up to brewing vendors to look at the stackable casks and then grabbing random strangers and dancing for joy.

It's a cool questable item -- Got mine on Tuesday!

It gives you +10% to foraging -- but if you get attacked, remember to put something else in your melee slot.

lol just started another post asking about whether machete and max skill gives you 220 skill and better chance to forage rare items. Was leaning towards the arguement that machete doesn't add to chance but seems some here DO believe that the machete increases chance of foraging zone specific stuff with skill maxxed? I'd love to see some info on with vs without machete.

Thank you for pressing on, Hibashira!

The reason I ask to compare date both with and without the machette equipped is that we do not currently have any definitive data as to whether or not having the machette equipped affects *what* you forage. There are rather a lot of us curious to know. If it turns out that having a machette equipped increases the possibility of getting a zone-specific forage, you can expect to see a lot more foragers doing the (rather easy) quest.

For your external data sets, what is the minimum number of forages you would like to have us provide?

I redid the spreadsheet with conditional sum so it is sortable. That way we can use it to tell which zone yield more of a particular item.

This is sorted by zone: ** Link removed, see top post **
This is sorted by item then percentage: ** Link removed, see top post **
You can see why I redid it this way.

As for progress. WW is done. I took a couple of night off to get her to 46. She's now checking ToV.

If you are interested in helping, sample size should be near 200 forages. My rough rule is that the percentage should not change if you add/subtract 1 in any foraged goods. I also compare multiple small runs (like run of 50 or 70) of the same zone. If 3 50-runs yield almost the same percentage, I'll add them up and call it a day.

Oh, and if you get lore forage and need to drop them. Do so but count them too. Or send me your log, I can parse it to count the lore bits. As long as there is no more than one type of lore forage in the zone, the parser should work fine.

I think may be I'll do the machette test when I move to Luclin. I know some of the plants are quite uncommon, like the ones needed for the machette quest. That might be a good test. I'm open to suggestion on this one.

This is actually most useful in spreadsheet form (as oppose to a web page) where you can sort. I guess I'll put it out for download when it is more complete. And if Denmom them decided to adopt it, they can do the update then.

this is great work...i plan on heading to pog and will collect numbers

But I have a related and possibly stupid question. Other than player superstition, does it make any real difference just WHERE in a zone you forage? I mean, should I expect to get same forage percentages at zone line that I would in the middle of the zone?

Also see related message I started on machete. Is a link to message thread there with data that seems to indicate machete makes no difference
