  • Question about changes for March patch

    Hi all,

I apologize if this has been mentioned somewhere; I haven't seen anything definite on the topic. If it has been stated and I just missed it, please direct me to the right place.

I know Ngreth has said that he was hoping to have the changes to DoN cultural recipes ready to go in March, but that was just an estimate. Does anyone know if those changes will be going in with this patch? (Or if he's mentioned that he did get them ready in time?) I'd like to clear my stashes of supplies before they potentially become less useful, but I've got a busy weekend and don't want to spend all my free time tailoring and smithing if I don't have to.

    Thanks much for any insights,
    Aph

No, there will not be any changes to DoN cultural recipes with teh March patch.

And that was NOT what Ngreth said.

Ngreth HOPED to be able to START reviewing the drops required (and their drop rates) in March/April (basically sometime after the launch of thge expansion.

Thanks for the answer about the patch, Maevenniia.
I apologize for my misquoting; I wasn't trying to put words into anyone's mouth. From what I remembered reading (and I admit my memory is probably not word-perfect), I knew he was looking at the changes and had said he had an ETA of working on them in March and would let people know a bit in advance of the changes if he could. I hadn't seen anything, so I was just checking to see if I had missed it because I haven't been following the boards as closely as usual lately. I'm not trying to start any rumors or panic. I also wasn't trying to be demanding or hold devs to any sort of schedule based on vague comments they'd made.
I really, sincerely was just asking if anyone knew the status of these changes in relation to the upcoming patch. I'm sorry if I came across otherwise.

        No Problem.

But there are no DoN Cultural changes in the patch.

It's now the 13th, but EQplayers.com's "Upcoming Updates" is still empty... has the patch been rescheduled or something?

I think the EQ forum moderator are sleeping on the job or they may be only posting info only when it's closer to patch time to avoid pre-patch issues like hogging soon to be rare or hot selling item(s).

Well, most of those sort of changes go out on Test anyway before, but posting the DATE of the next patch surely shouldn't cause that much hardship?

In any case, it's now been posted by Kytherea in the Town Criers area on EQforums:

                Ngreth,
What can we do to help? It is a monumentous task to evaluate drop rates for so many races in so many places for so many different things.
As a feedback-y kind of thing..... trivial loot code for tradeskill components stinks. I'd like to hunt spiderlings for less than 4 hours to get 2 stacks..... It makes the newbs upset.

And, as a defense from others' claiming increased drop rates will unbalance the markets..... you still have to struggle up through how many skill points to even consider being able to make the items, and then, you have to deal with the built-in fail rates.
Also, more parchments dropping. 1K+ through the roof. It's an unbalanced market. Otherwise, I just LOVE the research route! I just can't solo to collect the parchments.

Where are you at that it takes that long to get silk? If you have access to a pet class, take it to Everfrost by the PoK book. Make a hotkey with /pet attack (something) in each line and spam it. May take some fiddling to get the right mob name though. I use that and can barely keep up with the spawn rate there...so much stuff spawns so fast. I use that area for spiderling silk and wolf meat.
