  • Amalgamator Combines - rant

Load of crap, that's what it is.

I don't mind that it's consumed, I don't even mind that there's a lot of subcombines, but to place four 351 tinkering trivials on the subcombines as well as a 252 on the final combine.. wow. Not to mention that one of those 351 trivs requires farming a pelt that is rare beyond reason and unless you're very well equipped, generally requires at least 2 people working together to get the item. (Speaking of the shadowmane pelts)

It clearly demonstrates that the powers that be are clueless about three things. One, there is no moderate tradeskill path to 300 tinkering outside of DoN cultural; two, THERE ARE NO TINKERING AA; and three, tradeskilling is suppose to be fun - this is not.

When I had my second mechanoinstruction reader fail today after spending 5 hours to farm two shadowmane pelts, I retired my tink. Gratz to my server, hope some other gnome is willing to pay the price.

    Pissed and venting.

More to the point, now a handful of GM tinkerers are holding the rest of the server to ransom by charging exorbitant prices and there's absolutely NOTHING anyone can do about it short of starting a seperate mule for tinkering.

Not a bad monopoly for a racial trait for which gnomes pay absolutely no exp penalty and gets regularly upgraded each expansion. Sure beats the regen bonus that trolls pay an exp penalty for.

ALL tradeskills should be open to ALL classes and ALL races.

BD tinkering will take you to 300 as well, and it tributes decently.

There's actually FIVE parts of the Amalgamator that are 351 trivial.

Oh yeah, don't forget you need twice as many of those rare pelts to make the holepoker that's a 404 trivial.

And I'm not sure what 'the rest of the server' is referring to .. you mean the minority that makes up the top-end guilds on the servers that can actually obtain the no trade blank augs in the first place?

I find this amusing. "Unless you're very well equipped"... I mean, what the hell are you doing the AAAA for, unless you're extremely well equipped and in a top end raid guild to even have a chance to get your hands on any of the stones.

For sale? I'd imagine the price range being around 200k+ on this thingie and you're complaining that you have to farm something with two people, something that actually gives you exp.

What I find BAD about the AAAA is that it requires tinkering. It goes well into story and all, but come on, give me a break and let me make something for myself that I can USE. So far there has not been a single TS item I can wear. Yea, I use bags I made myself, but that's it.

Actually, for some.. we just like making things...We like that fuzzy feeling you get when you accomplished something.
