They are also looking for class correspondents for all classes right now. Best of luck to all that apply!

Funny how often I'm seeing people wish others luck in these threads. What they really mean is, "I wouldn't take that job if they paid me."

Seriously, tho, I hope one of you picks up the gauntlet here. Kyros certainly performed well at the last FF (and has already borne the brunt of a Pfister-slam), but he's by no means the only candidate I've seen here.

            *catches her breath*

            no, sanna.
            don't be hasty.
hastiness has never been good to you in the past.

            sleep on it.

            yes.
            walk away.
do not post to that thread before you sleep.

*eyes the thread as she walks out*

I have been a corespondant before. I must warn anyone who does it...

You must be able to keep your temper.

People will attack *YOU* for problems with the game, even though you have less control over it than the Dev's do!!! You will be blamed for bugs, you will be blames for something not being fixed, you will be blamed for their idea that "every click on tradeskills should automatically succed, no matter the skill diference and automatically raise the skill by 10 points..." has not been implemented.

Not that I want to scare anyone away... I am just warning

Hehe, and sure enough, I didn't apply for the tradeskill correspondent job. I was just honestly wishing anyone crazy enough to really want it good luck!

Well, I didn't apply to either my class or the tradeskill correspondent offers not because I didn't WANT the job, but because I didn't feel qualified for it.

Now having read Ngreth's post, I'm very glad I didn't...I don't handle being attacked well.

Do they even need a tradeskill correspondant?

Maybe I am just being naive - but I think the EQTraders forums already discuss absolutely everything they are looking for. We talk about what needs updating, what is broken, what we like, what we hate, come up with ideas, ....

Seems that it would be easier for someone at SOE to monitor the boards rigorously than it would be for a tradeskill correspondant to try and collate the discussions here. OK it may be an even dumber idea - give the regular moderators (not server marketplace ones like me) the ability to flag particularly noteworthy posts.

Maddoc and Hunter have been great at stopping by and keeping us informed and even responding to some of the issues that got highlighted (oops, and Absor too). Just need someone to spend a little time each day stopping by and maybe a week reading the "hot" posts from the past.

The other reason I suggest it in this form, is that it is implied the correspondant is one-way giving information to SOE directly. If that is so, you don't need a public correspondant to get screamed at, you only need a SOE rep to read what is going on here.

                    Am I just being idealistic?

(see that Moderator tag - well that is for the Vazaelle marketplace, my posts and opinions should not be considered as anything but my own and not reflect poorly on the folks doing all the hard stuff here. )

It might well be easier, but SOE would have to pay that person on their staff to do the collating, essentially full time (if they did classes also). If someone here or elsewhere would do it for nothing and pass it along, then...

I'm not saying that's the motive, just that from a business point of view, it makes sense and it involves the community.

I'm not sure I should admit this, but I threw my name into the hat for this. Could be interesting. I'm cerainly not the person who knows the most about trades, but I know some, and there's lots of people here that would help out. Good luck to whoever gets it.

People who take on community service are never as appreciated as they should be. It's hard work, and emotionally draining. My hat's off to anyone who volunteers for such things!
