  • Coldain Ring Quest...

Not quite sure if this is the correct place to put this but thought EQTC might be able to use this...my source is off of EQmaps.com...

First Quest: (lvl30) Talk to Garadain Glacierbane and he will tell you that he's very cold and would like a warm blanket. You will need to combine the following items in the large sewing kit to create the blanket.

    • High Quality Tundra Kodiak Hide x2
    • High Quality Snow Cougar Pelt x2

This item becomes trivial to make at skill < 48. Once you have created the blanket, hand it to Garadain and he will reward you with this Copper Coldain Insignia Ring

    Faction Hits:
    + Coldain
    + Dain Frostreaver IV
    - Kromzek
    - Kromrif

Talk to Garadain Glacierbane after you have completed the Copper Coldain Insignia Ring quest,
    (level 30)

and he will tell you that he would like someone to take his axe to his nephew Boridain, and bring back proof that he is ok. Head off to [-2450, 1550] and hand Boridain the axe. Boridain will then try to locate his Rabid Kodiak. He will wander around and will aggro a lot of different mobs, and you must keep him alive. Eventually he will locate his Rabid Kodiak. Kill it, loot the rabid pelt, and give it to Boridain. You have to do this quickly as he will despawn shortly after the kodiak is dead. Once you hand him the pelt he will hand you back a Broken Axe. Run back to Garadain and hand him the broken axe and your copper coldain insignia ring and you'll be rewarded with the Silver Coldain Insignia Ring

This is the third quest given by Garadain (level 30)

Talk to Garadain once more and you will find out that he wants you to make him a knife. To create the knife you will need a Flawlwss Walrus Hide, a Wooly Rhino Tusk, and a Skinning Rock. Once you have obtained all three items, combine them in a forge to create the knife. Now hand Garadain the knife and your silver ring and you will be rewarded with the Gold Insignia Ring

To be able to complete this quest, you must have done the first three quests prior to this one(level 40)

Talk to Garadain once again, and he will tell you that he is in need of a hammer so that he can smith his new knife. He hands you a note to give to Tain Hammerfrost. Head straight out from the dragon bone bridge in Eastern Wastes and you will soon come upon Tain, a dwarven cleric. Hail him and he'll tell you that he was just ambushed by Frost Giants and that he needs help. Say "I will help you", and he will sit down and tell you that they will be here soon, he then tells you to kill Grhek and obtain his vial. Five frost giants spawn nearby and run up to kill Tain. Defeat them all and you will be able to loot a Blue Vial off the named giant. Hand the dwarf the blue vial and he will reward you with the Coldain Smithing Hammer. Now run back to Garadain and hand him the smithing hammer and your golden ring and he will reward you with the Platinum Coldain Insignia Ring

This is the fifth quest that Garadain (level 45)

hands out. Talk to Garadain once more and he will ask you to go intercept a Rygorr Messenger who is carrying some sort of invasion plans. Garadain will then ask you to hand these plans to the Coldain Lookout in his camp. He also mentions that all of the invasion force must be stopped and their leader, an orc named Scarbrow, must be killed.

When you hand the Coldain Lookout the invasion plans, Scarbrow spawns with 2-3 Rygorr Invaders, and 2-3 Rygorr Oracles. The only problem here is that you must engage Scarbrow before the dwarves get aggro'd otherwise they will probably steal the kill and make the body vanish. Once Scarbrow is killed, you can loot his head and a frozen orb. Return to Garadain and hand in your platinum ring, as well as Scarbrow's Head and you will receive the Obsidian Coldain Insignia Ring

This is the sixth Coldain quest(level 50)

Talk to Garadain once again and he tells you that he has to find out what happened to the coldain invasion force that tried to attack the kromif a while back. Garadain tells you to return with proof of their deaths, and proof of the deaths of their killers.

The first step is to locate Korrigan, the undead coldain, who spawns at night in the dwarven hut near Icefang. Talking to him will reveal that the coldain forces were destroyed by the ry'gorr. While you are talking with the undead dwarf, Icefang will respawn as a large version, and will eventually walk over to the orc huts near the bridge. When he gets there, 4 oracles or ry'gorr will spawn along with Poxbreath Yellowfang, a named ry'gorr orc. Kill Yellowfang and you will be able to loot the Note from Kromrif.

Next, we head off to a spot near the Ry'Gorr Keep, close to the exit of Crystal Cavers. If you stay here a Ry'Gorr Emissary will spawn. Wait another couple of minutes, and then Rodrick will spawn next to him. He is the traitor and you must kill him to obtain his head.

Return to Garadain and hand him the Note, the Head and your Obsidian Ring and you will be rewarded with the Mithril Coldain Insignia Ring

This is the seventh quest (level 50)

and you will need to have done the previous quests to complete this one. Talk to Garadain once again and he will ask you to rescue Corbin Blackwell.

Head over to the Kromdif Fortress and kill Warden Bruke to loot the Shackle Key. Hand both the shackle key and your mithril insignia ring to Corbin Blackwell. He will be able to escape and hands you back the ring. You now must protect Corbin and keep him alive until he reaches Dobbin Crossaxe. Along the way four Ry'Gorr and four giants including Commander Bahreck will attack. Kill these enemies all the while making sure no harm comes to Corbin. Once he reaches Dobbin, he will thank you for rescuing him and then despawn. Dobbin will tell you that he will give you a note for Garadain if you show him your mithril insignia ring. Hand Dobbin the ring again and you will receive a note in return. Now run back to Garadain and hand him the note, he will in turn reward you with the Adamantium Coldain Insignia Ring

Eigth Quest: You have to complete the Adamantium Coldain Insignia Ring quest before this one.
    (level 55)

Talk to Garadain once again, and he will give you the last quest in the series. He will tell you that there is a war going on against Chief Ry'Gorr and his troops. He asks you to hand him the Adamantite Coldain Insignia Ring and in return will hand you back the Marching Orders. Run over and hand the orders to Gloradin who can be found in the nearby hut. Once you hand him the note 30 to 35 Ry'Gorr Orcs spawn and begin the assault. You must kill the Chief Ry'Gorr and loot his head. You must also keep Garadain alive, otherwise the quest will be over. Once you have the head, hand it to Garadain and you will receive the Velium Coldain Insignia Ring

This is the 9th Coldain Insignia Ring Quest so you must have completed the first eight to be able to attempt this one(level 55)

Hand Seneschal Aldikar your Velium Coldain Insignia Ring and he will ask you if you will accept his task. Say "I will accept this task", and he will hand you back your ring and the Traitors Bane Box. He will then tell you to fill it with Rodrick's Dagger and the heads of the five traitors.

    • Off to the Eastern Wastes to locate the Ry`Gorr Emissary who can be found in the small tower. Wait for him to run to the Orc Fort and back to the tower as this will cause Rodrick to spawn. Kill him and loot Rodrick's Dagger.

    • Now we must head off to the Great Divide to locate the first traitor, named Murdrick. He can be found in a cave very close to the Velketor's Labyrinth zone. The most successful way to pull him out of the cave is to train him to the zone, and have friends nearby waiting for him. Kill him quickly as he will start to speak and once he's done talking, he'll despawn. Loot his head and Tainted Avalanche Ale Recipe. You will now need to create the tainted avalanche ale by combining the following items: a bottle, an iceball (Snow Dervishes in IceClad), an Ice Wyvern Stinger (Wyverns in Cobalt Scar), Artic Mussles (1170, -600 in Cobalt Scar), Seahorse Scales (Seahorses in Siren's Grotto & Kedge Keep), Runed Seashell (Sirens in Siren's Grotto), and Mind Melt (Rogue Poison). [Trivial at 248 Skill]

    • Once you have created the ale, we must travel to Eastern Wastes and locate Captain Barradain. Hand him the ale and watch as the poison does its work. Once he falls down cast a quick harmony on the bodyguards and pull Barradin away. Kill him to loot his head and the Note to Peffin.

    • Once we have the note we can head off to the giant fort in Eastern Wastes. Kill all the giants you can see and the locate Peffin Ambersnow who is invisible in the right most house. The best way to hand her the note is to pull her out of the house, and then memory blur her as three elite giants spawn inside the house who can see invis. Once you have handed her the note she will walk over to the fire and five elite giants will spawn arond her. They are all rooted and have high resists so you will not be able to pull her single. The best way to kill her is to push her to the fire and out of the range of the giants, just make sure that you don't use any damage shields as the giants will summon. Once peffin is dead, loot her head and the Note to Doldigun.

    • The next traitor, Doldigun, can be found in Kael Drakkal in the Manor [-850, 1150]. He will spawn once you say "The Dain shall be slain for the peace we must obtain". Hand him the note and he'll reward you with the Ring of the Coldain Council (identifies as Juliah Lockheart's Ring). If you attack him two giant guards will show up, you must kill them first. Once these first two giants are dead, three more will spawn. Kill these three giants (one of them is level 60) and Doldigun will respawn. He will run towards the exit, kill him and loot his head.

    • For the last head you will need to head back to Icewell Keep and either wait until 9am when the counsil starts to locate Juliah Lockheart, or head down to the lower floor on the opposite side from the keep entrance and find her in her room. You can attack her at either spot as the other dwarves will not assist her. She doubles for around 380 dmg so you'll need a good group to finish her off.

Place all six items in Traitors Bane Box, and hit combine. Now hand the box and your velium coldain insignia ring to Dain Frostreaver IV and you'll be rewarded with the Coldain Hero's Insignia Ring and the Dirk of the Dain.

This is the 10th Coldain Insignia Ring quest (level 60)

so you will need to have completed the previous nine quests to be able to attempt this one. Also you will need a very large guild to help you complete this quest as there will be a huge war and many giants to destroy.

Hand the Dirk of the Dain to Dain Frostreaver IV who can be found on his throne in Icewell Keep, and say "you can count on my help". He will then hand you the Declaration of War, which you have to give to Sentry Badian, who can be found in the guard tower in the Great Divide. Hand him the declaration of war and your Coldain Hero's Insignia Ring. This will start the Kromrif vs Coldain war and you'll receive the coldain hero's ring back. To win the war you must defeat the giants and Narandi the Wretched. Once Narandi has been defeated, loot his head and return to Seneschal Aldikar. Hand him the Coldain Hero's Insignia Ring and Narandi's Head and you'll receive the Ring of Dain Frostreaver IV.

    Enjoy. :P :P

Since this is EQTRADERS we only really need to have the tradeskill portion of the ringwar here - there's more than enough spoilers for the rest of it. Thanks though.

Thanks, nice to have the info all in one place. I printed it out. It's a tad more concise and user friendly than Allakhazam's.
