  • Emblems for RoF cultural and other "sets"

Will we be seeing a type 15/emblem aug slot in the RoF cultural BPs as well as the other dropped "sets" like Underworld, Plaguebringer, etc?

One of the guys on my server keeps insisting no when he sees someone ask that question in general. Says that they took the emblem stats and added them across all pieces.

So I did a quick lookover of the new cultural for my warrior, and I think I am missing something. It looks to be barely an upgrade to Glorious especially considering the removal (or exclusion) of the type 15. T1 RoF is also better than the cultural. Did I miss something?

I don't think so, I've been saying that since day 1. Something is amiss. I will miss wearing cultural if it doesn't get tweaked at some point.

Just for my own curiosity, I compiled the data from 4 different sets of warrior armor, Glorious, Regal as well as Grandiose and Boreal. I currently wear Glorious, and was curious what is the best upgrade. I was somewhat surprised with the results.

          Code:
Glorious Totals Upgrade to Grandiose	Upgrade to Boreal	Upgrade to Regal
Stat	Hero Stat	Hero Stat	Hero Stat	Hero

A few things jumped out at me.
          • Str and Sta go down in ROF
          • Almost all heroics drop in all armors
          • All resists drop in all armor... curiously by the exact same amount.
          • mod2s don't seem to follow any pattern. most of them are less in all armor.

I realize that stats and resists are most likely well beyond everyone's caps, but still.

Based on this and factoring in level of effort to obtain, the choice is clearly going to be the Boreal. Obtaing enough loams (super rare) or marrows (somewhat rare) to make a fully loaded suit of cultural doesn't even come close to the amount of improvement it would provide. Maybe they will get tweaked a bit in the future. It seems odd that they broke so far from their pattern they had from the last few expansions.

It makes me sad considering how much effort went in to maxing those tradeskills.

Edit: Forgot to clarify. All of the base numbers for my Glorious include the Emblem from HoT. The differences would be even less if I could obtain the VoA Emblem.

Edit 2: I factored in stats for the max values for the HoT Emblem (as if it were on raid gear) so my numbers are actually a bit high.

Interesting comparison, my results for comparing Glorious to Regal for Woodelven Druid was a little different different, probably because I compared using the actual emblem I have equipped rather than "maxed" when I don't raid. (Side note: not sure why you’d compare VoA T4/Glorious/Regal to RoF T1, I’d have thought you’d at least compare to RoF T2). For me, the upgrade from Glorious to Regal mostly made sense.

I might have made a mistake here or there when looking at this in detail, but this should be mostly right.

I had been doing a lot of contemplating the past couple of weeks to decide what to do about armor and based on my analysis, I decided to go ahead and make the cultural. I have actually had decent luck farming my own components (befouled spinners drop well in filth palace, loams drop well in evil tree (go up to the howlers at the top of the tree or the wretched alarans through out the tree). Marrows were hardest for me, but I scrounged up enough. If I recall correctly, T1 armor is slightly worse than the regal and not only do you have to farm named for the component drops, but you also need to farm antithesis of fear in order to get the purity up to 75 (I use pure power sources for the extra bump). T2 dropped armor is slightly better that regal, but again farming the named.

I managed to farm enough loam/marrow/spinners in the past couple weeks for my main, but I also box two toons. When I did the price comparisons between making the T2 armor versus what those ingredients are going for in the bazaar, it was nearly a wash (yes the cultural runs a little more in the long run between the store bought ingredients and required miscellany, but I also don't have to hunt down 24 specific armor slots and 24 antithesis of fear either). Very close in cost AND it doesn't leave me hunting named for armor drops and a new charm, so I spent yesterday tradeskilling for my three toons. Maybe I'm lucky and prices are down on povar, I don't know (loam is still high, but marrow is way down in price). I didn’t actually do the detailed comparison for all three characters, I’m just assuming that the change is comparative by race/class.

The difference ends up so minimal, it is difficult to decide what the best course is.

For Human Plate, going from Glorious Stalwart Plate with Numinous augs and an Emblem of Illdaera (fairly routine mid range cultural without considering raid seals) to Regal Stalwart Plate with Transcendent augs, you end up with:

              AC + 130
              HP + 2452
              Mana + 2097
              End + 3080
              Str -22/0
              Dex +27/+18
              Sta -3/+2
              Cha +14/+4
              Wis -38/+3
              Int -47/+1
              Agi +26/+13
Saves are dependant on the Numinous augs used, since the Transcendent augs seem to be the same across the board, but generally went up 20 or so (other than the Save Disease, which dropped 139 points from the Bertox Numinous I was using)
              Combat +0
              Shielding -2
              Spell Shield +0
              Avoidance +4
              Accuracy +3
              Stun Resist -3
              Strikethrough -10
              DoT Shielding -4
              ATK -13
              HP Regen +1
              Mana Regen +2
              Dmg Shield +9
              Dmg Shield Mitigation +0
              Healing +33
              Spell Damage +24
              Clairvoyance -2
              End Regen -1

As you pointed out, most people are fairly capped on stats, but there really is a noteable drop in Mod2 stats and very minor for the most part increases in Heroic stats. AC, HP/Mana/End goes up noticeably enough, although not as much as the increase from Stalwart to Glorious was.

The armour seems worth making, if only marginally, but it is not a decisive increase by any means.
