I did not see a way to submit new guides so I posted here.
Feel free to add this to the rest of the guides on the main site.
The other guides seemed quite old and outdated.

Tailoring Guide
-----------------
This guide is a down-and-dirty fast way to level your tailoring.
You will be able to level from 0 to max with nothing more
than a couple trips to the bank to grab more silk. It won't
be cheap, but then we want fast leveling, not to save a few
plat and bring yourself days of agony trying to farm mats.
----------------
Silk Templates
----------------
Each combine uses the following:
1x Simple Sewing Needle (need only one, always returned)
1x Silk Curing Chemicals (same for every combine)
1x Filament (changes and gets more expensive with progression
to each new silk type, see table below)
1x Pattern (same for all silk types)
- Silk Mask Template Pattern
- Silk Pant Template Pattern
- Silk Robe Template Pattern
?x Silk (2 or 6 per combine, depends on which pattern using
- Mask = always 2 silks
- Legs = always 6 silks
- Robe = always 6 silks
Progression

Notes

All items purchased from Vendor Higwyn Matrick, POK Tailor Building.
The only traveling you will need to do is running to the bank
occasionally for more silk.
You can use the portable Large Sewing Kit for the mask combines, but
you ust use the Loom for any pant or robe combines. It is just
two steps away from the vendor. You portable sewing kit has only
8 slots and there will not be enough space to insert all
ingredients unstacked. The loom has 10 slots.
No need to combine silks into swatches first, use them as they are.
Although they make templates which are meant to be used in further
combines I sold all my successes back to vendor to defray expenses.
Making only the masks will speed up the leveling process, but result in
a few more failures, costing more because you have less to resale.
Masks only also means you use only 2 silks per combine, instead of 6.
When I noticed I had an abundance of silk for the current level, and
a smaller amount of silk for the next level I would make the legs
and robes. This meant I wouldn't need as much silk to progress
through the next level. For instance, I had 3-4 stacks each of Crude
and Natural silks, but much less of Pristine, so I did make legs and
robes for these 2 types of silk. All other levels I only made masks.
I collected enough silk to use through the Natural Silk levels just by
leveling 2 characters as normal to about 55-60. Anywhere you go these
silks drop, and they all stack to 200. You do not usually need any
more than 3 bag slots to carry all the silk back from a hunting trip
anywhere. Just make sure to loot it all, and each day stash it
in your bank. By the time you do this with 2 characters you will have
enough silk to easily level up 1 character fast, and have a fair size
stash left over for other tradeskills or later tailor combines. Should
you find yourself short the silk is often sold in the bazaar.
As with all tradeskills, at high level it takes many more combines and the
cost is much greater. By the time I reached Fine Silk combines I did
not have enough silk stashed away to do this all at once. Previous to
this point I spent a little over 3000 plat. After this it was quite a
bit more, filaments are very expensive now, and I purchased some silk
in the bazaar.
Ask your friends and guildmates to help you collect. If they know you need
it they will often (but not always) help out. If you collected on your
own as I suggested above you will be fine to somewhere around Natural
and Pristine Silk. Help with anything above would always be welcomed.
You get to naturally progress one tradeskill above 200. If tailoring is not
your first skill to pass this point you must spend 3 AA points to allow
a second skill to pass 200, and 3 more points for a third skill, etc.
This means you must be at least level 51 to earn the AA's needed.
(New Tanaan Crafting Mastery, 3 points each, all levels trainable at 51)
