  • Maybe the Dev team doesn't know?

We brought to the attention of the developers, at the last fan faire, the fact that all of the exclusive PoI purchased Items didn't stack, and they said they'd look into fixing this.

Maybe we should find a way to communicate to Maddoc a few other bumps in the PoP tinkering section.

    1) The base prototype used in 50-75% of the recipes, is flagged unlearnable.
    2) The base prototype also doesn't stack, which makes any skillup run or trying to make devices for the guild VERY bulky.
    3) The subcombines for the Shrink and Grow Devices (The steam and air pumps) are NO DROP. I can think of no good reason for this, and wonder if it's a bug? Most tradeskilled items, and tradeskilled subcombines are NOT.

    optional fourth:
    4) The Air and Steam pump Subcombines do not stack. (See number 2)(This one I can almost understand, though)

We've had A LOT of luck recently hearing from Maddoc, Absor, and Tanker, and having them hear us out. Maybe they can let us know if this is intentional, or possible to be fixed/changed.

I'd be good and interested to know what, if anything, they'd want to say to this.

Not to mention it would be reeeeally nice to be able to get to Mr Nitram Anizok with a tiny bit more ease. It could be done super-easily via a Mischief-style 'teleport' on the other side of the Innov GY that landed you in his house, and another click would take you back to to the GY. That alone would soften a good 10pct of the blow of taking that route for skillups.

My main is a 63 chanter, but my tinkerer is a 29 gnome necro. I've been working on Geerloks and collapsed stuff to get her skillups for quite a while now, because of the difficulty of getting to the PoI guy. I can't understand honestly why they would put those items in such a place and not provide a way to get to him that doesn't need a group. As far as I know, isn't there a collection of see-invis mobs between the zone in and the gnome? How in the world could my enchanter do that alone, even if she is 63. It just seems really dumb, especially because when they introduced cheese, it was in Jaggedpine, yes, but a relatively safe area of Jaggedpine, not one you had to go through mobs to get to. I can't think of any other tradeskill with store -bought items that makes you go through see invis mobs just to get it. It's really something they need to look into.

I don't mind so much that they don't stack. I like that the fact that they don't stack is keeping the market at least slightly up on them, even though the non-stacking itself irks me. But that they can't be learned... good lord that's more annoying than walking blindfolded through Ak'anon for hours with the sound cranked up trying to find a way out! It would be lovely if it could be learned since we're dealing with an item that's a subcombine for so many different other tinkering recipes.

            rogue

I ask a rogue friend to go into PoI and purchase these parts for my gnome. Works fine.

I like that the PoI purchases are not easy - but I think they should be either stackable or a bit easier to get to. Not both (I like to keep my competition slim on these, they're one of my few items I can actually recoup some of my skill-up costs on) - but one or the other. As a necro I have no trouble getting there but but it's pretty obvious that for a non FD/non sneak class the vendor is impossibly situated, especially since it is a hard route to pull and kill along for a normal xp group to boot (most head in the other direction where there are more single pulls).

The non-learnable, non-stackable sub combines seem a but much too. I usually have at most two or three bags I can empty to work from for skill-ups - non-stackables sure make this slooooooow.
