it occured to me recently when asked by a monk if i make the small bags if i wasnt missing something. so i looked at the capacity and wt on all the bags and did an informal poll on how many bags the average monk carries. this is an AVERAGE of a SMALL sample of monks polled. levels were 30s-65, rich to poor. some pack rats carried 7 or 8, carrying their quest stuff with them, others claimed a wise monk needs only carry 1 WR bag (but they admited to trips to the bank more often or to buy food).
since i see monks as the target market for these bags they are the only ones i polled.
Results were aprox 3.6 bags mostly 10 slot with a few 8. so it looks like about 30-32 slots to carry stuff average with some type of WR.
Leatherfoot Small Pouch: 2 woven furs, 1 infused platinum thread = wt 0.2, 4 GIANT slots,100% wr. trivial > 187 <=250
Leatherfoot Haversack: 4 woven furs, 3 infused platinum threads =wt 0.6, 10 GIANT slots,100%wr. trivial >250
A) a monk carrying 3 haversacks has 36 slots avail, 30 are 100%wr wt cost 1.8
B) a monk carrying 7 pouches has 29 slots avail 28 are 100%wr wt cost 1.4
C) a monk carrying 8 pouches has 32 slots avail all are 100%wr wt cost 1.6
these examples dont take into account dragon bags but if you compare tink bags to example A the wt cost is 3.0 (dragon bags compare at a wt of 0.4 per bag but are lore, 2 types)
A) used 12 weaves and 9 infused plat threads
B) used 14 weaves and 7 infused plat threads
C) used 16 weaves and 8 infused plat threads
leatherfoot small pouches were trivial for me, and may be a wiser choice for up and coming halfling tailors when you point out to your market the benifits.
i know each server is different but my current prices on Haversacks if its all my time and materials is 8k or 2 for 15k. i havent sold any Pouches yet but think i would ask 2500p for them.
yes Blue Diamonds have come down, but people are charging alot more for tufts of dire wolf fur now as well. and you need to factor in fails, time and your profit. example A would cost a player 22,500p to buy from me, example C would cost a player 20k. yes thats seems like a lot but to a monk its worth it to save wt and gain 100% wr. besides i would rather the customers gather the components themselves and then i would only charge a fee for successful combines.
just some food for thought for my fellow halfling tailors
