Well, I can finally make it on my beast. As far as I know I'm one of only 2 on Tribunal server that can do so although EQrankings shows one person with a higher skill than myself but 1 less aa. (not sure what percentage the aa's add at each level).
At a skill of 238 with a 5% geerlock and TM2 I've only had 1 fail since hitting there out of 11 combines (all 368 or lower triv). I did my burn at 227 w/ a 5% gearlock after reading people succeeding here. Didn't realize they had TM3 till I had burnt 3 hides at 30K+ each.
But I now have a pair of gloves up for sale so hopefully that will = more hides and I'm working towards salvage 2 now then TM3 along with farming way to many shissar scales to hit that all wonderful but way to many dreaded combines away 300.
My beast is a 63 Vah Shir with 56 AA's and fully Master's Geared.
All the gear itself I made on him but saved the symbols for making on my main. Even though there was a higher risk of failure on some due to a lower smithing skill it was one way to work skill ups without spending thousands of hours farming greens to work smithing.
