After quite a long time of farming/buying components (thanks a lot to someone selling 200+ Gem Studded Chains to a PoK vendor shortly after the Solstice Robe nerf), I made the run from 194 to 252 in one long run about a week or so ago. My Wis was maxed for me at 265 and I had a geerlok equipped for all combines except the Solstice Robes. I have no mastery or slavage AAs. As you can see, this stretch of skillups is now a LOT easier since they smoothed things out. My results are as follows:

I have no idea of the plat I went through for that run, but I know I made a fair amount of it back by selling the components I had left in the bazaar (I had a lot, as I thought this run would be much more painful). All of my velium was farmed either in Velks when soloing AAs, or in CC later on for better drop rate. I tried farming/buying othmir furs after that to continue, but after a few days farming and getting what I could in buyer mode I had enough for a little over 40 combines. I did those, got no skillup, and decided at the rate I was going I couldn't make a reasonable enough run at anything close to 300, so I hung it up.
