i dont do the armor seriously atm. I have put my lv 1 warrior in fine plate while skilling up and when i get a little higher i am going to do the gothic ldon for him and sandblasted for my cleric. trying to equip them all with stuff i have made cause whats the point of tradeskilling if your alts can wear something you make. i have also been giving away the meat pies to newbies. someone told me weren't worth anything once so i go for newbies who really appreciate what i make. i am doing baking to 250 atm and then brewing to 200. then will work on my 165 smithing.
what i find weird is that smithing is most profitable for me when not making armor. smithing enchanted valorium has made me close to 500pp now from about 4 ppl. 200, 100, 100, and an i forgot amount. i normally port ppl for donations and make good money doing it when tradeskilling in pok. have some tls and can send ppl where they want without too much distraction from baking normally. no idea how much i have spent since i get little bonuses throughout but very handy to get a bit extra. normally make enough porting ppl that i can go buy more fennel or mandrake or etc. to keep skilling.
several times someone will ask for a 150+ smith. yesterday i replied with "need some valorium enchanted?" I made 2 for 2 enchanted valoriums for the guy and he gave me 100pp. then the enchater failed and i did another one for him free. he had just lost enough money. i have never demanded more than 1pp for my tl ports to cover the cost of my portal fragment and that they pay for any crs i have to do in skyfire. i am just really amused by that and wanted to share.
i was wondering if anyone else had done something like this and has anyone else been making more money for combines that ppl bring than for actively pursuing a skill that you dont have maxed already? so far made a good bit of plat on making celestial tempers and some of the brewing combines too. i find it really handy to have a few high skills. been about the only way to make money on tradeskills till i get to a higher skill level than 200 it seems.
