I hailed Eron and he asked me, "if I was finished yet?", which he always does. Thought Maybe flag was reset. Went to HoS tried first combine and poof same message, "disintegrate maybe you did something wrong".

Went back and tried several hails and says but no avail. I decided to give Counting Shadows book to him and voila! Eron tells you, " Well, it looks like you lost track at this post in the book. Why don't you start over from the beginning and uncover the three gem boxes." I am hopeing this works but im too tired to test it tonight. I will let you know tomorrow.

- Eron in Dragonscale Hills will now give you some help if you are stuck with the shadow counting book. This help is simply resetting the flags that may be keeping you from uncovering the gem boxes.

When you hail him as part of step 15, he'll take 11 of each of the fish (except prawns, which he'll take 8 since you used 4 of the 12) and one of each of the foods you created out of your inventory and give you a Reconfigured Pattern.

To create this new piece, combine the Second Setting Jewelry you got from completing part 2 with the Reconfigured pattern that you got after completing step 15 and an Uncut Combine Star in a Jeweler's Kit.

I have implemented a fix for the flags that will go into next patch...

Though it uses the book you lost... so for that you will still need Customer service help.

Let me know how it went Silvereen. I had a similar situation a while back and posted it but unfortuantely there was nothing that could be done for me so the quest is dead atm. But like you I was unable to remake the first box even at the correct time. Since I had already made the boxes once before and somehow lost my completed counting shadows book for the final turn in.

There appears to be some invisible flag that was unable to be reset on my account.

I know others have been commenting, I'll take this opportunity as well ...

This quest was/is fantastic. I know everyone loves different parts of EQ, but I have always found challenging quests for worthwhile items extremely enjoyable. I especially think providing some additional quests and rewards for those who have put in hundreds/thousands of hours tradeskilling is a great way to provide great content and keep peoples interest.

I really hope the next expansion continues to develope along this quests line or similar. I would love to see a couple of quests like this in the fall.

If you destroyed the box, you can petition to have it restored. I'm not sure what task steps you do or don't have, but if all you're missing is the actual box, then the GM's can restore that, and you can continue normally with the quest.

Ive stumbled into an issue with the quest I could use some help on ...

I opened most of the tasks months ago and finally have the time to finish them up. I am on Counting shadows and some how messed up the box combines.

I will save the long winded explanation, basically I have the second box and third box made. It will not let me make the first box with the celestial essence (at the correct time). I think what happened was that I made it months ago, it was destroyed inadvertantly, then figured I could make a new one. Well, it doesnt look like you can make a second of the same box (at least not the first one it seems. I was able to make box 2 and 3. My hope that it would allow another box 1 combine after didnt happen.

Do I need to just petition for this first box (combine completed)?

but the point about the augment is still true

I was sure I remember in the dialog with Eron that he describes creative use of the chain through twisting and wrapping, with the implication being that its longest length wraps around the waist, or wrapped twice around the neck, four times around a wrist, or wrapped into a coil for a finger or a loop for an earring.

If Eron did not say that, he said something that implied it - and from all that wrapping and coiling, it would not make sense (lore) to be a "mask".
