I am not exactly certain where I would go to get a non-raid acquired Form of Defense IV.

It does not matter how long something takes. It does not matter what was done before.

If an actual raid is not included in some way in the path to making an item, I am not allowed give a raid level reward. Your Aid Gremel comment does not work. I could do the same thing, but then you have to get a raid started and completed by SOMEONE in order to get the part. Even if you did not make the effort of a raid directly yourself, the effort of a raid was made in order to get the part.

Whether you or I agree with this or not, that is the rule I am required to uphold.

My question before I do attempt it is this, does it matter which box you place in which part? Like must the box from Hills of Shade be placed first etc? There is a write up a few pages back that has a lot of helpful info and pretty much tells you exactly what to do, is it the general concensus that the information is correct?

I am all for trying new things but to be honest the time already invested in this part let alone all of the prior parts makes me hesitant to jump in and give it a shot.
The info was correct. Which box doesn't matter, but the order in which you drop them does. You have plenty of time to drop the boxes (following the rule of sun or overcast) and then count 1,2,3,1,2,3, based on the game time to then open the correct one. Just take your time.

I had no luck farming brownies, but I killed the named Thistle one twice with a group and he dropped the box each time. I think he summoned.
All these named MObs summon, but don't appear to chain summon (they are sorta kinda kitable/root-rotable, gear/class dependent). All boxes drop from named (I have gotten them that way). All boxes drop from trash (I have gotten them that way, also). Named will drop them more often that the trash MObs (you can literally kill hundreds of trash before seeing a box, worst case on named I have seen is having to kill two).

The reason I ask this is there appears to be two ways to die. One from a DD and one from some spawned MOb(s). I have not been dying. I try the combine and I fail. I stare at my computer screen and swear. I walk away and get a soda. I come back and go farm another box.
Nope. it is a personal character flag.

You can try another petition telling CS that your flags are set improperly becuase of a crash, but I do not know what their solution for it would be.

Let me just say I've not confirmed this yet but I was told by a guildy that she was able to get all quests from Eron at once. She said all she had to do was /say smithing / fletching / baking / etc. I'm quite sure she had all of them because she was bouncing around group ideas (we could go here, or here, or here...) and they all coresponded to various steps in each. She settled on going to do the fishing / baking one by herself. She figured she would have to do the final turn-ins in order but she was going to work the rest out of order.

I was under the impression that this was a progression type quest. Did something break or was this intended?
And yeah, as Kyros said, I am not sure how big a deal it is.

I may still decide to go in and script things up (the only good way to enforce it ) so that you have to do it in order, but frankly I do not want to.

You definitely need the result of each task in order... in order to actually complete the task. Each of the final combines requires the results of a previous step. Except for maybe the baking/fishing task... there is no overlap on any of the tasks. They are all in different zones.

I created my three shadow boxes without any problem, then the server crashed and I wound up with one shadow box and two gemmed boxes. So I attempted to create my second box again and it crumbled. I petitioned and after three days without any action I gathered up three more gemmed boxes, deleted the first shadow box, and went to the altar. At midnight I attempted to make my first box again and it crumbled.

Just what am I doing wrong?

You still have to do all the steps for each quest, so you're not bypassing content, and you still have to do the final combines and hand-ins in order, so you can't just jump ahead. The only difference is that you can choose the order in which you do the tasks, instead of being forced to do it linearly.
Thanks KyrosKrane. I took a look but couldn't find a response by the Ogre. Bad search terms = bad results.
