After sitting at 242 in pottery for a couple of months (was only doing enough star ruby steins, idols and faithstones/spiritstones to keep my trader supplied) I gained a point out of the blue last week and decided it was time to make that big push for 250.
Imbued idols haven't exactly been a viable alternative on Lanys server - there's almost never any clear mana for sale in the bazaar there for some reason, and every time I got an enchanter friend to promise to make me some it was always "in a while" and they never got around to it.
Two nights ago found a whole stack for sale so scarfed it up and gained two points doing imbued emerald idols. Last night finally I started spamming ooc in PoK along with the market channel offering 1k for a stack of mana until I finally pinned down an enchanter who had the time (and seemed rather surprised at my generous offer but heck I was getting desperate). Two stacks gained me four points... still one short. 
More spamming.... Found another willing chanter to make a stack but alas, no point! She was willing to make me another stack (well, when she got done in PoN which didn't look like being very soon) but while I waited I made preparations to do a stack of star ruby steins. Third one and VOILA! 250!
Hehe I was so shocked I left my sculpting tools in the wheel.
ops: Oh well. 
I pushed my hunting partner into getting his last three points in baking so we could celebrate together. What a night!
