  • Just seen on test

Just noticed on lucy (http://lucy.fnord.com) that test has just had changes made to the thicken, etc Mana line of spells.

They now use half the Mana they did before and I assume that it is going live with todays patch.

This should make enchanters a bit happier (certainly my apprentice Pyronimus Brainstorm will be happy, less time producing mana for me :-) ).

That's the first time I've looked at lucy.
Does the changing vendor from 0 to 1 mean that mana vials will now be vendor-purchasable?

No, that would reflect the change when the spells scrolls were first put on a vender.

Please note that those are the changelogs of the spell.

Mana vial spells have always been sold on a vendor.

I didn't look up the spells, I was just pointing out the vendor bit refers to the SPELL not the result.

Actually the vendor yes/no bit means only one thing, namely if the spell is deleteable from the spell book.
You can only delete vendor sold spells so thats why its named so.

Meaning that with this change these spells became deleteable.

I bet there are a hoard of happy enchanters screaming from joy because of this change. /sarcasm off

My tink-chanter will be thrilled. He was going to be having some long days ahead, since Wus is coming soon for me.

I hope they plan to do the same with the druid imbue spells. They are more or less the same type of spells and cost exactly the same as the current enchanter versions.

It would help a lot when I make PoTC robes.

Not entirely true. One of the mana vial spells is the same amount of mana as the druid imbues (The lowest level one I think); but there are several enchant spells; I believe they currently use 200/400/600/800/1000 mana each; basicly an insane amount of mana at the level you get the spell (from 12-49).

I thought the main thing that they were looking into reducing the mana cost on was the level 49 smithing enchants though.

Wonder if this means I'll have to lower the prices at my mana vial store...

Oops, my mistake. I thought they all had the same cost. I hope they go through with this. 1000 mana for a vial is insane...

Yes, 1000 mana for a vial is insane That's for purified, though, and you seldom need many of those in one go.
It's 800 mana for distilled mana, which you need for golden idols, faithstones, holgresh fur armour. Believe me, at lvl 50 it takes a LONG time to do a stack of those!

I'm looking forward to the change

Thanks for clearing up the 0/1 vendor thingy
