Not for seals. Ore, skin, or silk(x2) only is the template.

Sorry I thought that was explicite. Faycite water, seal pattern, platinum thread, vial of purified mana, plus 2 exquisite silk (unstacked) does not work. Ditto plus 1 exquisite silk. Ditto 1 exquisite silk plus 1 exquisite silk by themselves in sewing kit DNC.

I havent tried it since today's patch, but as of yesterday the old smithing recipes were also working (made a few of each bazu, chronal, discordant, and last blood evolving my trophy).

I believe that is the case.

Meanwhile, I can confirm that exquisite silks do not work in Faycite Seal combo. I tried the customary 2 silks, 1 silk, and even tried to combine 2 silks into a swatch, all DNC.

Whoops. Someone beat me to the punch. Teach me not to read the entire thread.

I finally found the book for the new Seal recipes, it's entitled "Seals of Power" and is located on 'a tradeskill armor historian' in a number of locations. Basically the recipes included are those already discovered by posters. However, it does say "tailors can make the seals using either silk or leather."
Someone posted they had tried silk and gotten a DNC, but evidently it's there if we can figure it out.

    From the book -

Smithed Seals all need seal pattern, some ore, specific water, 2 platinum bars, vial of purified mana. Chronal and Discordant use tungsten, bazu and last blood use cobalt, serpents and sunshard use titanium, faycite needs tantalum.

Tailored Seals all need seal pattern, the appropriate silk or leather, the specific water, platinum thread and a vial of purified mana. Chronal and Discordant use excellent animal pelts or silk, bazu and last blood use superb animal pelts or silk, serpents and sunshard need flawless animal pelts or silk, faycite needs exquisite animal pelts or silk.

Tinkered Seals will use all of the same components as smithed seals, plus three gnomish heat sources.

    Seems correct Kremie.
Easiest way to remember the seals:
    TSS = Serpent's Spine
TBS = Sunshard (pretty much everything tradeskill was Sunshard something)
    SoF = Faydwer / Faycite

Atleast that's how I took to comparing them.

Without looking at the data, what you say looks correct

(am am not 100% sure about your statement about the animal pelt, but you are probably correct)

OK so now we know 2 of the new seals in the series - Serpent's Seal and Sunshard Seal, both of which use Titanium Ore if smithed. Serpent's Water costs less than Sunshard Water, so presumably Serpent's is slightly lower. This should mean the tailored versions both use Flawless Animal Pelt.

The last "new" water is Faycite Water at a cost of 1679pp, presumably the Faycite Seal will use Tantalum Ore or Exquisite Animal Pelt.

Elsewhere, I read that of the three new seal/augments, the highest one would come from SoF but the other two are (I think?) one each from TSS and TBS.

Presumably, Serpent's and Sunshard seals will go into the Ambleshift's Golden Automated Amalgamator, and the Faycite into the Opal version.

And the older Chronal and Discordant should now go with the "Basic" version.

Since with the original stuff the seal material is not particularly rare, I did not see any particular reason to use the rare cultural components either. The No Drop Raid component, and all the parts for the AAAA itself is enough

I can confirm this is correct I did the Last Blood too.

Trivials were unchanged for the ones I succeeded at. I didn't test any tinkering, and the smithing I extrapolated from the tailoring.
I tried a couple combines with silks (both with 1 and 2) and got DNC.

Old Drop = New Drop =>seal
Last Blood Steel = Cobalt Ore =>Last Blood Seal
*Bazu Steel = Cobalt Ore =>Bazu Seal
*Discordant Steel = Tungsten Ore =>Discordant Seal
*Chronal Steel = Tungsten Ore =>Chronal Seal
Fine Silk Swatch = Superb Animal Pelt =>Last Blood Seal
*Magnificent Hide = Superb Animal Pelt =>Bazu Seal (Excellent was DNC so I assume Superb)
*Mottled Hide = Excellent Animal Pelt =>Discordant Seal (Failed combine)
Shimmering Silk = Excellent Animal Pelt =>Chronal Seal
    *combine not tested, just guessed
Bah, you beat me. Can confirm on the bazu's with cobalt and superb pelt, and Last blood with cobalt. Superb Silk does not combine.

I was guessing it was going to be loams and was pleasantly surprised to find out it's the ore instead.
