I'm sure it's already been noted in here somewhere, but just thought I'd mention it still.... in the EQT manual for the GoD tradeskill quests, it's mentioned very specific, that you may only hand in ONE of the X components (tea, sludge, ore, etc etc).
What I found was that you can hand in several, if you do it in the same trade window (unstacked of course).... and well... yeah.. that was all I had to say I guess... he'll return 20-30 (or even 40, altho you only need 30 to do the relavant quest-section) of the needed items.
