  • Need to get my Wisdom up any suggestions?

Hi Im at baking 194 and have just spent hours clicking away for Halas pies. Only 1 skill up....my wisdom buffed with C4 is 161..Im beginning to think I should get my wisdom up.
What relatively inexpensive wisdom gear can I get to boost up my levels.. I am a 65 wiz...I have some money..so I guess I can spend a bit...but not crazy amounts

    Thanks!

As a wizard, I think you should probably try to raise your INT instead. Only the higher of INT or WIS counts towards skillups.

you are at the point in any tradeskill when getting skillups SUCKS. I don't mean to be cruel, i promise, but it just really really sucks.

My advice is: take it in small chunks. don't go at it in massive sprees. if you always watch, watch, watch for that skillup you will cause yourself undue amounts of frustration when it doesn't come. Do NOT let yourself be frustrated. Just keep truckin' along at it, you'll get there eventually.

        GOOD LUCK!!!

Amen. It took me about 80-something combines to go from 191 to 192, then I hit 193 6 combines later. I've done between 45 and 60 combines of items since hitting 193 without a skill-up in sight.

So take it easy. Its not your Int or Wis that causing you to not get skill-ups. Its the ****ed RNG.

I got ubah lucky... snagged a kei from a friend, had 210 wis, and within 6 HMP combines got 194 AND 195. *ducks from all the flying pie tins aimed at her head*

            hasn't budged since.

            serves me right. ^_^

Just keep going, and don't get to where you can't smile.

              Got lucky...

I got lucky and made it through the 190's with drops in Jaggedpine. With the foraged Plant Shoots (I'm a Druid), the Griff and Anaconda meat, it went fairly fast. Somewhere around 20 combines per skillup if I went back and added it up, which, from what I read, is not bad. I expected about 30 per point average to 250 (I may be unpleasantly surprised for the rest of the trip, I'm only 208). If you can comfortably do it, go to Jaggedpine and whack the Griffs and Anacondas, they're relatively painless if you can stand the lag

I didn't have trouble with 191-200. 218, 219, 220 on the other hand were brutal.

I made a decision (initially unconscious, but later conscious) to NOT count combines between skillups. I do a few stacks of combines whenever I have supplies, time, and a KEI (!), and I find that I really increased my enjoyment of tradeskills by not stressing over every point.

Especially with a tradeskill like baking, where supplies are cheap and plentiful until the very high levels, there's no point in stressing. If I don't get my skillup in this session, I'll get it in the next, or the one after.

Having said that, I did manage to go from 191 to 194 in one session, then 194 to 199 in the next. Based on how many Ohabah Truffles I ended up with, I'll guesstimate 20-40 combines on the first run, and maybe 60-80 combines on the second.

Frankly, given the horror stories I've read here, I expected much worse. I actually had to stop at 199 with lots of supplies left because I didn't want to risk going over 200 -- I want to GM smithing first.

I guess my point is that bad runs do happen (I remember a horrible streak of combines with no skillups in brewing around 150 -- several stacks with nothing to show), but good runs also happen. Over the long term, I expect they'll average out. Just keep plugging at it when you have a chance, and you'll do well enough.

Once I clear out some stuff in the old trader mode I'm going to make another push. I'm at 230 now and I have about 300 griffon meats/plant shoots awaiting me. I have already started the sub combines for 100 picnics. I've told myself to get the stuff for sub combines for one item each night so I can do it with my spit while I'm out hunting. It's much less painful that way and doesn't eat up hours at a time.

                      355

I took a break from tradeskilling until I spent the AA to get my Wisdom to 355. That included 5 AA into Innate Wisdom, and 7 AA into Advanced Innate Wisdom.

It shouldn't be that hard for a level 65 wizard to get to 355 Intelligence.

Along the same lines about JP-

I dont hunt there, only the vendors, for one reason- HORRIBLE HORRIBLE LAG! I guess its my puter, but the only place i have lag like that is the bazzar at optimum times! I dont think its the puter for this reason.

Everytime i goto JP and try to hunt I nearly get killed do to the shutter effect the zone makes on my puter. Does anyone else have this problem? If so where do you hunt? Is there a sweet spot?

Interestingly i dont have a big issue with lag near the vendors, just when i leave this area and head out to hunt.

                        HELP!!
