Potion Stacking

I'd like to get a comprehensive picture of how alchemy stands for stacking. As of right now it seems that any potion should stack with any casted spell, with the exception of potions with STR components stacking with spells with STR components. This is getting reported to the Powers That Be in the hopes that it is a bug and will be fixed.

I haven't heard anything either way about bard songs, which I'll take as a good sign.

It's not entirely clear how potions that affect the same stat stack with each other. I had Greater Accuracy overwrite Greater Cohesion (both adding 25 to dex). Yet there are reports of Divine Endurance stacking with the Aura potions for resists.

Please post any further findings here. If we can get a sufficiently clear picture I'll get a better explanation up on the site to help us sell these suckers

Also, I would like to know how things stack with Primal Essence/Avatar line of spells, and the rage line of spells. For instance, Primal Essence stacks with Focus, both add str and dex, Avatar stacks with Focus, Avatar and PE do not stack together. Now add potions into the mix - do the potions stack with Focus, with PE, with both, with neither?

I'll try to play around with this this week and see what I come up with.

I'll start with some. Did trials yesterday with my warrior, used some alchemy to assist. Warrior had the following buffs up: Virtue, Khura's Focusing, Replenishment, Endurance of the Boar, Talisman of the Wrulan, Primal Essence, Acumen of Dar'Khura, Speed of Vallon, and some druid spike coat DS thing. Had 1 more buff up, but cannot recall which.

Greater Null Potion - stacked (thanks 255 all melee stats!)
Kilva's Skin of Flame - stacked (thanks 62 point damage shield!)

Potion Stacking

I have over the holidays done some major testing and I have compiled a complete list potions that stack with themselves and with the HoS/FoS line... regretably I left the list at home, as I was in a rush to get to work today.

I will attempt to post them tomorrow or tonight, depending on how busy the guild is tonight.

One minor disclamor - I did all my tests with the lesser stat potions - for obvious reasons - and so far, there has been no conflicts with the greaters from what I have seen as far as stacking. Aslo, my only interest was to findwhat potions actually stacked with each other and with the HoS line. I can not say for sure what other buffs these stack with.

What I do recall from the tests -

No form of STR potion stack with HoS, or any other STR potion, but Stability and Purity DO stack with Strength and Tali of Kura or what ever the 55th HP tali is, and also with Talisman of Altuna - I have not tested any other STR giving potion with Strength and the 'Tuna line.

You can stack some stats to make a synergy, but not all. I do know you can stack the Dex effects of Adroitness and Cohesion to get 40 dex, 25 sta and 15 agi. (going from memory, I might have dex and sta backwards)

Potions have what I call a greater and a lesser effect, the greater effect is the +25 to stat, and the +15 is the lesser effect. You can not stack the greater effects of two potions if they are the same. IE you can not stack two potions with say +25 to dex with each other to get 50 dex.

Potions with resist stats all stack with each other. This includes the Luclin resist potion. Oddities - The luclin potion only gave 5 extra points of resists over the lesser potions of each resist - again, I did not test with the greater potions, because I was quickly starting to dip into my Fungi tunic mad money.

EVERYTHING stacks with antibody (+ to CHA and I think Disease)

I only tried stacking with the Luclin resist poiton with the other resist potions, and I did not try stacking any of the other luclin potions with anything. I also did not try any of the utlity potions at all, or any of the original Alchemy stuff.

I will post more when I have my data infront of me.

Wow... that looks intensly screwed up... I am sorry for the goofy way this looks, can someone tell me how to fix this table thing?

The problem most likely has to do with the fact that on these boards they have to manually maintain a list of which html tags can be used, and the boards then only barely tolerate them. Stacking questions

I didn't quite realize some of the versatility that the shaman potions offered, but I'm duly impressed. I do have some questions about stacking that I could use some help on:

Mage DS + Kilva's Skin of Flam = stack?

c1 / c2 / c3 + Greater Elixir of Concentration = stack?
or
c1 / c2 / c3 + Spiritual Radiance + Great Elixir of Concentration = stack?

slight derailment here, but the only way I've found how to get a table correct in phpBB is to insert a font tag in every table element, like this:

And then, to make matters a bit more complicated, any carriage return characters in the HTML will be interpreted as carriage returns at the end of the table, creating a lot of whitespace. To fix that, remove all carriage returns from the HTML:

I have a little javascript that you can paste code into and it will strip out carriage returns and such to make posting tables to phpBB (and EZBoard) a little easier.. you still have to put the font tags in yourself for phpBB, though.. Maybe I'll work on the code to do that sometime.

Yes... shaman DS postion stacks with mage ds, druid ds, bard ds.. in several variations.... the ds is your level / 2 + 1... so a level 65 would have a 33ds + druids or mage ds..

Clarity potion... Last time I checked this stacked with all forms of Kei, lunar whispers and dominion... but for the 4k per 10shot is not really worth the additional 3ticks of mana...

Per the alchemy forum of the shammy boards, all our concentration (clarity) potions stack with all chanter forms of clarity.

Yes our ds potions stack with bard and mage and druid ds...

I used this trick to help us win the trials. Mage ds + shaman ds = 75 point ds. Add bard ds (+4?) = 79 point ds...

I can confirm - clarity potions stack with kei.

Got a philosopher's stone on Monday, yay, made my first ever Mystical Applitude potion, going to try it on our friday raid. We'll see if there's any stacking issues.

Stinging Wort potions wont take hold if a player has Brells Stallwart Sheild

stinging wort gives you 300 hps above your base, same thing that brells does. the reason it wont work is brells2(bss) gives more hps, if you just have brells1(bmb) then it overwrites
