  • You lack the Skills

OK this is a pet peeve of mine. if something is trivial for me to make I surely do not LACK THE SKILLS to make X item. Now maybe the gods are smiting me for something or maybe the RNG has decided that I shall not be successful but I most certainly do not lack the Skill! And yes its kind of petty but they really need to put a little thought into the fail message. Hell make it random messages of the gods said you SUXOR or you’re cheese soufflé was taken out of the oven too soon and has failed. I don’t really care but to tell me I lack the skills when the item is trivial is just WRONG!

OK thanks for letting me vent and have a nice day

    haha

I like that, after trivial the message should change to...

Quellious Hates You, and has deemed you unworthy to create your Kiola.

    or...

You have rolled a random number that could have been 1-100, this time it was a 1, and you've failed miserably to make Fish Rolls.

        How about...

"You clumsily botch your attempt to make the item" for a trivial message?

Things aren't necessarily "trivial." During the first year of EverQuest, when you couldn't skill up on an item anymore, it became "trivial." However, after a while they decided the word wasn't really fitting to what they actually meant and they changed it. The word, used to refer to thing you could no longer gain skill on, stuck around for lack of a better word.

That said, no matter how good you are at something, you'll always make a stupid mistake everyonce in a while.

Well when I am makeing metal bits and have a smithing skill of 182 to tell me I lacked the skills is extreamly incorrect. like I said tell me what every ya want to for the failure other then you lacked the skills. Prior to getting to the point that I can no longer get skillups I would agree with I lack the skills message.

Anything would be better than to have a skill of 250, have your trophy equipped, and fail brewing something (blasted celestial tempers) which trivials 114 points below your un-modified skill. Nah. More embarassing is failing to make soda water which trivials 192 points below my un-modified skill.

Stop insulting us with "you lack the skill..." I have proved that I do have the skill.

I should have thought a simple "Whoops! you messed up that combine" would suffice...
