In the FAQ for Stats and Tradeskills,

you have Dexterity listed as a primary stat (along with int/wis) for skilling up Jewelcraft. It's not. (Based on your post on the Nov 02' fan fair and my own in-game experience as a dex jeweler)
Like to see this faq updated so no one else runs out and buys dex gear (like I did) before learning the hard way.
