  • These prices are INSANE!!

Are you people NUTS.... I just started taking up Tailoring again... cant seem to find a GM Wood Elf on Brell, and started shopping for some supplies in the bazaar. Lets see:
Silk Swatch 20PP EACH, Silk threads (padding) 15PP each
Sylvan Dye - 100PP each, Cursed Dye (50PP)..

Some one needs their heads examined. Was so bad on prices, I brought my druid out of retirement and spent the day in Karana with Boo Boo and {inflamitory word removed} the zone of spiders. Poor things didnt know what hit them. At these prices I will make 7500 PP for silk swatches, and another 2000 pp for dyes. Not too mention the hides I picked up and plains pebbles.

Maybe I wont go back to tailoring

If you can't discern it from your own post.... if you were into doing the tradeskill, you wouldn't be selling them for that price.. you'd be using them.

The reason the prices are high is because NON-tradeskillers are selling at stupidly inflated prices.. mostly to NON-tradeskillers who are buying at stupidly inflated prices because they're to gimp to actually have to work at anything, and what they're quest earring NOW, as opposed to in a couple months.

As much as i enjoyed the shawl quest, it and the aid gimmel quest are the greatest disservice that Eq has ever suffered onto the tradeskills.

I have to agree with Kiztent here... The prices are set there, because people with more plat then they know what to do with, will buy at that price, rather than spend their time farming it.

And I will further state, that I am continually amazed at how much people will pay for "convience". I am a multi-skilled tradeskiller. And for a long time I have had a full set of baking tools. When I go into Trader Mode, my tools are in the bag, available for purchase. Each Time I sell one, and have to re-make it, I up the price by 5 plat the next time. I am up to 40 plat for a pie tin, 30 for a file, 30 for Skewer, 35 Smoker. It costs me < 2 plat each to re-make. I haven't found the pain threshold yet... maybe 50 plat each... And I only ever have one for sale. I don't flood the market.

This conversation has been had before.

If you don't like the price, don't buy it.
Go get your own. Go hunt the spiders for the silks. Go find the spiderling for their silks. Go forage the morning dew. No merchant out there is stopping you.

The fact that you are looking to buy in the bazaar says that you value your time at more than XX plat (what ever you are willing to buy at).

Well, if I figure my time is worth 15p per silk thread, then that is where my price is at.

You know where the mobs are. You know how to combine the silks.

You value your time, and I will value mine.

(stay tuned next week, when someone will complain that bazaar costs are too low.)

Yeah - it never fails to amaze me what folks will pay for baking tools - I feel bad selling extras at any more than 10p each though.

As for the insane prices of raw materials - markets eb and flow - as the Aid quest peters out, the price will drop again until something else uber crops up that inspires others to skill up.
