Grandmaster Sculpting tool Question

As I was turning in my bag to Jollum(sp?) in the bazaar he said something about improving my Grandmaster potter tool by combining it will my sculpting tools and I would get an improved potter tool.

What is this? The combine didn't work of course.

When the GM trophies were first introduced, they were not LORE, and had no 'summon bag' effect - they were str int wis 10, cha 50, that was it (or whatever the stats are). Very shortly afterwards, the recipes were changed to produce the trophies we know now - LORE, with a 'summon bag' effect.
