well... should i? :P been easy so far and looks pretty simple. might be a nice break from smithing. i see a consistant theme of people complaining about doing 200+ combines for 1 skill up in pottery, in smithing it could be twice that amount or more :P
is it worth it? i mostly want to make useful items, but selling things would be nice too.

It really depends on how much you want to farm and what you think is making decent money. You might be able to make some plats selling golden idols of tunare and star ruby steins if there is a market for PotG items on your server. These seem to be a little harder to get these days.
As far as PoP pottery, and items that come out of the opened zones have dropped in price dramatically. You can still profit from them if you can farm the ingredients yourself, but they tend to be a pain to get.
The real money in pottery is still in EP level pottery items. Even this most servers having several EP guilds now, you will still have a VERY hard time getting the rare glaze ingredient. At least 1 part of the glaze requires getting a super rare drop, usually from mobs that are not worth killing for anything but getting the glaze component. Unless a guildbank is selling the components (unlikely), the only people who would have these components are farming them to make items. I can't tell you how many people I know that always ask me to get them a solidified magma because they have everything else.
The choice is yours, there is money to be made in pottery, but it's not nearly as easy as back in the day when golden idols sold for 5k and SR steins for 2k.
