Fireworks and spell effects

From what I can tell the fireworks look awesome and my spells still look like I tripped and spilled a box of lucky charms.

Did you try turning down the opacity? I don't remember if that's the term they use or not, but that's what it does. If you go into the Options tab where the spell stuff is, you can make them more transparent. I think they look pretty darn close to the old spell effects at about 20%.

Opacity or no Opacity, it doesn't change the fact that the new fireworks effects are WAY cooler looking than the ancient spell effects that most spells still use.

Yep I have been running at low opacity since the patch that changed them occurred. So they look like a box of phantom cereal strewn into the air. :D

I still want some cool looking spell effects - I was really excited about the ones that were on test before the patch that needed the opacity change. I guess I want to have some style for my character. I have to look like a scullery maid wearing a baseball cap most of the time, so I was hoping eventually to have spell effects with some panache.

Oh well I guess halfling druids are supposed to be more modest. :P

New firework effects are amazing. They put all other spell graphics to shame.

I agree. I think Verant gave up too easily on redoing the spell effects. People complained that they just wanted them to look the same, but maybe if Verant showed off some of this stuff people would've been a little more accepting of the changes. I really liked how manaburn and ice comet looked. It's a shame they changed them back to looking like the old ones.

Guess you can /feedback it and hope they notice.

Played with a few of these last night and all I have to say is...Happy Panda is the win! :D

If you haven't seen these, I highly suggest buying lots and check each and every one of these fireworks out.
