Well everytime I see a server reset coming I always wonder where I should camp so I can get in first on the rares etc. The following are where i tend to go now as a level 60 druid:

Western Wastes: for those Velium hounds and more recently the mastodons. Charm fear charm fear etc etc. they always seem to be hunted to extinction within a day or two and the hounds fur sell well to shawlers though I usually make engraved velium armour out of them. The mastodon furs are currently selling around 1k on TZ.

Wakening Lands: for the shimmering geonids (refined diamonds to make engraved velium BP - dont make the other parts all that often) root dot dot dot root dot... Noone seems to camp the geonids and I hate having to kill 4 or 5 geonids to get a shimmering and have it drop one of the gems I dont want so I will usually only check this spawn for shimmering and go if they arent up. Usually there is 10-12 up after server reset and I can get 2-4 diamonds = 20k in engrave armour

Well I hate both of these camps now cause I have killed a gazilion hounds and I have slayed hundreds of geonids.

Now while these are aimed at my tradeskills I was wondering what other zones people would recommend for tradeskills or even good drops off rares. ME comes to mind but I think its going to be competitive even at the start of a server reset. While I am mainly interested in level 60 stuff I am sure other people wouldnt mind hearing other level appropriate locs.

I believe you've been doing two of the best spots. Spiders in EK are similar... there's a certain percentage up after a patch and then within a day or two they've been all replaced with placeholders.

Big guilds have a long list of targets after a patch... things like King Tormax, Klandicar, Gorenaire, and so forth. But those require lots of people, you probably can't solo such things.

There's a sea dragon in Cobalt Scar and a giant turtle (Lodizal) in Iceclad that you could get with a group, if not solo.

Maybe you could get the guy in Qeynos Hills with the EB earring. Or pick up iron oxides or yew leaves or oak leaves.

I'm trying to think of other places where mobs are farmed to extinction like in EK and WW. But most tradeskill stuff comes from things that are just farmed over and over. I'll probably remember more later, but I just can't think of any now.

Hadden

I love being there when it pops up and he is right there and boom, FBE sometimes. Plop, 3k!

Those dragons, including Lodizal I believe, are purposefully not up when the server/zone comes up (just as with any big named mobs)
