Well, last night, after dieing to a goblin alchemist that just popped up out of nowhere after killing a large rat, I was finally able to get the last piece off of the giant wood spiders that I needed. I am now the proud owner of a full set of my newbie armour. 
I also got a new level, 12
I have also hit 19 in tailoring. i am just sooo excited.
Thank you all for your tips and help so far, I really appreciate it.
I will continue reading the posts here, as I am picking up a lot of useful information, and will post again when I next have questions.
