Sorry, I need to whine for a few moments (i.e. scream) Cheese will be passed out at the end of this rant.

I have 200 skill in both Divination and Abjuration, I just got at 49th level Invisibility and Protect. I have spent two mornings so far, 5 hours each time, casting until out of mana, medding up, casting again.. I am bloody well ready to throttle the next person telling me to quit spamming.. I can't help it, I have been chased about all over test, from one empty zone (believe me, The Fungus grove is usually a ghost town.) to another. So I run elsewhere and start.

I'm still getting fizzles beyond belief. My little Enchantress Zorielle, didn't fizzle this much at 4th level when she got invisibility. The same with Shadeweaver (yes filter let me have the name) at level 16 with camoflauge, not a single problem.

So before I become a hairless kitty from pulling out all my fur, any suggestions as to how to get these two spells to finally stop fizzling? I can understand that initially I'm going to fizzle on any spell until I get used to casting it.. but after two mornings, I'm still going through from full mana to out of mana and perhaps getting one or two successes.

I know the beastlords are the little brothers and sisters of Shaman but uggh, you would think we could still not fizzle as much?

Ah well.. Sorry about this.. had to vent..

/em Hands everyone some cheese

Take care all.

Welcome to the Hybrid Casting World. VI, in their infinate wisdom, decided to make it so that, even with the same skill in whatever is necessary to cast the spell, to fizzle more often. A LOT more often.

PS: What's yer Channeling at?

I've noticed, on my shammie, that right after she dings, she has trouble casting! Lots of fizzles, and it seems worse if it's a new set of spells. I now just go cast the new spells on greenies, run out my mana bar four or five times, and it seems to go easier on me! Just my 2cp..

Channeling is at 204, Evocation I'm suprised I can cast any of my DD spells, its only at a lowly 132. Alteration seems to be the highest one of all, 235.

Ah well, I guess its the RNG having its way with me.. who knows, maybe in a few weeks, it might actually start working..

Take care all.

As Torg noted, us Hybrids have our very own Fizzle tables separate from "real" casters. However, Beastlords fizzle rates are much worse than Ranger/SK/Pally fizzle rates.

Was there any change to the fizzle rate after the last patch? They specifially mentioned reducing the fizzle rate for Beastlords.

Someone made that joke to me, however, I was told it was only for the production servers. I guess on Test, they want to see hairless kitties running about.

Though I had one high level Beastlord (Anche) say that post 55, you don't fizzle nearly as much.

I'm hoping hes correct, I truly am getting sick of trying to get invisibility to work, or protect. :)

Ah well,

Take care all.

Aye Fizzle rate is related to your actual skill lvl compared to the max skill for your level, it seems. Ever played a shadowknight past 22? They get their first evocation spell then. I spent *hours* fizzling off my manabar before the skill got high enough to fizzle more moderately. (Luckily, casting on your pet works at least, making it a bit easier to practise.)

But I find that every time my cleric levels he fizzles more in the 1st 2 blue bubs of exp than any other time. This includes spells that he was casting with ease it hasnt failed at any time to happen. My cleric is now 38 and is my 2nd caster. So maybe get a little bit of exp into your level and see then

The Nexus works well also, can't damage yourself with spells there. And it classifies as nighttime, so rangers can practice conjuration there.

Oh yeah, my Beastlord got so frustrated with casting certain spells since he was garunteed to fizzle them at least 3 times before getting them off. Even after the "fix," my Beastlord still fizzles certain spells a ton with max casting skill. No clue why Beastlords have it so bad. :(

Best advice I have is level up. Fizzle rate is also related to your level relative to the spell level. I hardly even fizzle a feign... now.

Yes, it means that your 60 spells probably won't be that useful to you.

I understand and feel you pain on this one.

Beastlords get 7 Divination spells all said and done.

LEVEL 9 SPELLS
Flash of Light (Almost no fizzle might 1 every 20 casts)
LEVEL 15 SPELLS
Sense Animals (Almost no fizzle might 1 every 10 casts)
LEVEL 19 SPELLS
Serpent Sight (Dont cast it that often to know)
LEVEL 30 SPELLS
Spirit Sight (Fizzle 2 or 3 times a person Almost never get skill ups here after 10 full bars of mana trying for them)
LEVEL 49 SPELLS
Invisibility (Fizzle 1/2 to a full bar of mana before patch, now 10% to 20% of mana perodical skill ups. Have used 50 Full bars of mana trying to raise skill and decrease fizzle)
LEVEL 51 SPELLS
Ultravision (Dont cast it that often to know)
LEVEL 65 SPELLS
