Missing Components of Practice Runes

I recently began researching with my Necro and I cannot seem to find the Froglok Eyes needed to make the Apprentice Rune Azia. I have found Froglok Tadpole Eyes but they don't work. Any help is appreciated.

Since Practice Research dates from Classic EQ (before all the expansions), I'd think that Froglok Eyes drop in one of the two Guks. Of course, it might be that they removed them fom the drop tables when LoY was released, but I don't hunt in Guk so I couldn't tell you.

Can anyone hunting in there confirm if they've seen Froglok Eyes drop in Upper or Lower Guk, or anywhere else for that matter, since LoY was released?

The froglok eyes were a fairly common drop in Upper Guk....but its been a while since I've been in there.

Well can't say if the eyes even work in that recipe anymore, but do know that eyes drop off of frogloks in UGuk and off the live frogloks in LGuk, aren't especially rare, you get one like 1 in 10 frogloks in my experience.

I'm almost sure practice rune recipes have long since been removed though. I started playing right around the time Velious was released, and they were gone then, as far as I knew. They are mentioned in the Kunark strategy guide, so they must have been removed sometime between Kunark and Velious.

If anyone can prove me wrong by creating a practice rune, hehe, go ahead, if they can still be made my enchanter wants to know about it. But I'm 99% positive they no longer exist.

If anyone knows for sure they do exist now, where can you get the research guide for them? My enchanter could definitely use this if they in fact can still be made. And do practice runes have any purpose other than just raising research?

Runes are still live

I've made the Practice Azia and Beza runes to get my skill to 21. And then I've made the Apprentice Beza runes for 41Triv. I needed to know where the Froglok Eyes dropped to make the Azia Apprentice runes, I'll check Guk. Thanks for the info.

I have made stacks of practice runes. The most recent are Master Runes; I have used the practice runes over the past year (or more) to skill up in research.
