View Full Version : Trivial and Sellback Price on 2 Old Alchemy Potions

I am new to alchemy, with a level 37 shaman alt. I thought I would try to skill on some of the old alchemy potions. I was dissapointed to find that, at skill 63, Charming Deceit and Gnomish Boils were both trivial. (This isn't much of a change from the <70 that is listed)

I was surprised at the sell back rate though. I paid 15pp 8gp 6sp for the Eyebright (for gnomish boils) and a few silver for the batfur. The vendor paid 14pp 7gp 1sp 2cp for the finished potion. I forgot to write down the rates on Charming Deceit, but they were similar, about a plat difference in buy/sell.

Is this normal for the old alchemy potions? 1p is much better than the 6 or 7p it would cost me to skill on poison/disease cures (if these potions weren't trivial already that is) So, my question is, if the trivials were better known on the old alchemy potions, would they be a viable way to skillup and sell back to *vendors* Or did I just get lucky?

It wasn't a fluke, old alchemy recipes do have MUCH better sale prices to vendors than do revamp alchemy potions.

That's a good point, it makes them a lot more attractive for skilling up if you have a decent rate of success. I'll have to get that noted somewhere.

And thanks for the trivial updates :)

The only vendor you should buy from in Shar Vahl is Mydi. She wanders back behind the other two vendors, and will only sell to you when she is in the back, right corner of the main shop area (not in the back room). It can take a bit, maybe 10-15 minutes at most, for her to walk back there if you arrive right after she walked away from that spot. But when she does go there, she'll give you MUCH better prices than the other vendor with the same herbs.

For the record, the other two vendors gouge on everything that they buy and sell, not just herbs. Try selling them a flask of water for an idea of how big of a percentage they're under- or overcharging.
