I asked this question before, but the board switched over, and my post got lost before I could read the answer.

Typically, a gem can be imbued by a cleric or shaman of the appropriate deity (plains pebbles (Karana) and emeralds (Tunare) can also be imbued by druids; fire opals (Solusek Ro) are imbued by wizards, fused dragon crystals (Veeshan) are made by pottery). On Sullon Zek, vah shir shamans follow Tunare, and barbarian shamans can follow Mithaniel Marr. So on SZ, can vah shir shamans imbue emeralds and can barbarian shamans of Mithaniel Marr imbue diamonds? Or are shamans excluded from use the imbue emerald and diamond spells, even if they follow the appropriate deity? These particular cases only exist on SZ, where these race/class/religon combos are possible. I know on normal blue servers no cleric or shaman of the appropriate deity is unable to imbve their deity's gem (used to be troll shamans of Innoruuk couldn't imbue sapphires; now they can). Wondered if they stretched this on SZ to allow shamans of Tunare and Mitaniel Marr to imbue their deities' gems.

When did they change the Imbue Sapphire scroll? The last time I looked at it (about a month ago, give or take), it was still marked Cleric only. If this is true, thanks for the heads up!

Best way to find out would be to find merchant who sells the scroll on SZ and try to scribe the spell. Even if your class/diety is not listed, it is sometimes possible to scribe a spell; the Enchanter/Wizard spell Fetter is an example of a spell that was bugged for a while; enchanters could scribe it (And were supposed to be able to scribe it) but weren't listed.

Main problem with that is I'd have to get a shaman of the right deity to 29. You realize how long it takes to get from 1 to 29 on a RED server? Or a blue one for that matter...

Anyone already have a shaman of the appropriate level and deity on the server already?

I believe that although the scroll is marked clerics only it is still actually scribeable and castable by Innoruuk-worshipping troll shamans. I'm 90% sure of thid... can any troll shamans of Innoruuk confirm or deny this? I know shamans of the Tribunal, Rallos Zek, and Cazic Thule can all imbue the appropriate gems of their deities, it wouldn't make much sense for Innoruuk shamans not to have the same ability. I'm pretty sure they can though. EQ Casters' Realm ( http://eq.crgaming.com/spells/spell.asp?Id=1421 ) does list the imbue sapphire spell under the shaman spells as well as the cleric spells, though it is only sold in Neriak, not in Grobb. Of course, it is also sold in the PoK library, as all the spells that aren't quested or mob-dropped are now. Also The Shaman's Crucible, the only other major source of shaman spell info I konw of, lists Imbue Sapphire as shaman usable ( http://www.interealms.com/shaman/spells/level_29.htm ). Interestingly enough, you also need an opal when you cast imbue sapphire; the opal gets consumed, the sapphire gets imbued. Boy, Innoruuk is greedy...

Anyway, checked various minor websites as well that list shaman spells, and I haven't found one yet that doesn't list imbue sapphire as shaman usable.
