**Help needed: mob drop information**

Trying this again, as the last time, folks seemed confused as to what was needed.

We need mob drop information for ALL tradeskill supplies, for the upcoming database. We need *zone* information as well as mob information. (i.e., "any bat" doesn't help, we need to know every zone where batwing-dropping bats are located.)

Please take a look at the <a href=http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/info/database_drops.htm>Tradeskill Drop Info page</a> as well as the <a href=http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/info/PoP_drops.htm>PoP drops page</a> and post here with what details you can add to the lists.

In many cases (even for more common things like bat wings and snakes scales), I'm sure there are more mobs/zones where these items drop, but I can't remember them.

Thanks for your help on this! The more information we can get into the database accurately the first time, the less corrections will need to be made later.

Spiderling silk can be found on Sludge Spiderlings in Qeynos Aqueducts/Sewers (I believe these were added at the same time as the Qeynos newbie quests) and also Widow Hatchlings in Toxxulia Forest.

Um, the drop information is in no way automated, as there's far too much manual lookup of item/mob ID numbers when I'm linking things in, so as long as you have item name, mob name, zone, I'll take it from there. :)

I got two windstone drops off the Air Elementals in Twilight Sea. Very Rare drop as I killed los of Air Elementals between levels 24 to 30.

I also got Iron Oxide to drop off both the Earth Elementals and Fire Elementals in Twilight Sea. Again, a very rare drop.

Bar of immaculate steel seems to be random drop off anything, just like the ore is out of fire. The Stonewood staffs the same, random off anything like the staffs in fire. I only compare it to fire because I've solod some in fire last 2 days and seems the same for both zones.

I tried to check both the old-world and PoP drop listings to see what info was still needed, but some of these may still be repeats. Some additions/corrections for poison drops off the top of my head:

Asmag weed (don't think there's such a thing as asmag root) - goblins in Sol A
Soot (not sooth) hemlock - goblins in Sol A
There is a goblin vendor within Sol A that is dubious to most people and is usually stocked up with these from plat farmers. Also, the gnomish vendors further into the zone are sometimes stocked up as well. This will only apply if it's been a while since the last patch.

Crystallized sulfur - various HoT mobs, wyverns in CS
Darkbone marrow - darkbone skeletons in Najena
Dust of Decay - banshees in PoN (and probably PoJ)
Nodding blue lily - most mobs in Old Sebilis

Lyth Spellstar sales the following items needed for mage research spells:

Blood of Velious, needed for lvl 34 spell Cancel Magic.

Breath of Solusek, needed for every Fire Pet spell from lvl 29 on ( You don't need for all lvls, BUT the pet research spells, require the previous lvl spell as part of the combine.)

The Scent of Marr, this is needed for ALOT of stuff besides pet spells. It follows the same line at Breath of Solusek, but is for Air pet line of spells.

Hero parts drop off Valorian sentries (human model) in lower part of Plane of Valor.


Windstones, essence of wind, acrylia (bricks, pieces), grimlings and aliens in Tene Mts.

Essence of wind does not drop off the grimlings in Tenebrous, only off alien types. Acrylia ore (all sizes) drops from grimling orefinders, grimling laborer and grimling runner and various aliens.

I apologize for the lack of some details, but if other people can supply some mob names, it would fill in what I listed. Most PoP Elemental toon types drop specific things, and have a few names for each toon type, I don't have a list of all the different names of each toon, but some drops are exclusive to each toon.

In PoEarth, each toon type drops specific tradeskill things.

Rock-type toons drop the Immaculate steel and Shattered Crystals (crystals for pottery). A Mound of Living Earth, etc. I don't know all the names. There are Earth Elementals and mobs that look like the rock mobs from Merus Seru, both have the same loot list.

Mud-toons drop the Liquified Earth (pottery). Muddites of all sorts, including the event Mud mobs.

Vegerogs (PoN Hedge boss toon, but in Earth) drop the Vegerog vines for fletching parts (but are tailoring to make into string). Vegerog Emissary, Vegerog Ambassador, etc.

Trees (arboreans) drop the saps (for tailoring) and the arborean fibers (tailoring) and stonewood bow staves. A Tenacious Arborean, etc.

I don't recall if a specific toon type drops the stones, but if the pattern holds true for the "Earth Ring of Resilence" elemental stone (I forget the exact name of it atm), it will drop off the rock toons.

In Fire, the molten ores and the staves drop off of the castle guard toons, and as far as I can recall no other mobs. Fire Guardian and Guardian of Fire (1st and 2nd castle respectively-named guards).

Fire saps for tailoring come off the spiders as well as the silks. An Obisidian Spider, etc.

Firey granite for tempers, I think it is, drop off the Fire Elemental toons. ?A firey guardian?, I forget the names, been so long.

Solidified magma drops off the Lava golem toons. A Magma Rocklord, etc. I also think these drop the stone component for the rings for JC, but I dunno the name of the JC stone from Fire.

Fiend guts off the Devil-type toons, that are also seen in Miragul's libraries, with the hoofs and big wings, all red. Guts are for Obsidianwood Bows, fletching, but tailoring to make into string.

Air saps drop off the spiders for tailoring. A Prismatic Recluse, and 2 other types of spiders, only 3 types of spiders are found in Air. Spiders also drop the Eyes (multifaceted eyes?) for JC.

The bee toons (BoT upper area 'court yard' with the 4 click-ins to the 4 towers type 'bee' toons) in Air drop the Featherwood Bow Staves.

In Air, the Air Elementals drop the tradeskill metal (Heh, never paid attention to the names of lots of things, I guess :-p). A Confused Elemental, etc.

Nilborean Servants, Nilborean Scholars, Nilborean Nobles and I think at least one other type of flying feathered snake toon are found in Air, and they do drop the Alabaster Beaks, for pottery.

Baking - in Water, all Triloun meats drop off the Triloun toons (which are the mephits of that plane). Makes the Triloun Tail Soup, I think it is called. The Slarghilug from PoN are the only ones that drop the Slarghilug parts for the Slarghilug poppers, and in Water there are other Slarghilug parts that drop (Slarghilug Slime, and others), but none are for baking. I think the ones from Water are only for vendors, they are not tradeskill tagged.

In Air, the mephit meats drop off the temple guardians. The bird toons drop lots of phoenix eggs for the dough for the mephit meat pies, A Phoenix Noble, etc.

In fire, the jopals drop the mephit meats (Jopal Mystic, Jopal Warrior, etc), and the phoenix' drop the eggs for the dough for the mephit meat pies.

Earth mephits (Vekerchiki Assassins, and other Vekerchiki) drop the mephit meats.

As it matters, Phoenix eggs can be foraged in HoHb, Temple of Mithaniel Marr. I think it is already listed on this site.

Most other drops are listed above my post by other people, as I am sure I missed a few.

Some raw info from one evening spent there in which our group got wipe by a Cragbeast Queen! (Due to stupid ranger not seeing RED creatures on track - hit me for 3061!) So - things were a little hectic - didn't notice where some of this stuff came from but there seems to be a tremendous amount of foraged items. All items were presented to merchant in POK at a CHA of 116 for price checks. Hope I'm in the right forum for this info.
