On my way to work this morning I saw a couple people trudging along the side of the road with a gas can ... I felt badly since I didn't dare offer a ride to strangers, when I suddenly thought, "Oh! I can buff them! Let's see, sow, yes, maybe HoS in case they run into something nasty..." ^_^;

Ok, real situation.

I live in a dorm and sometimes don't put the shade up before going outside. One day after an EQ session this happened, and as soon as I stepped outside I saw it was pouring the rain. My first thought was, "Wake of Karana!" Then I had a reality check and was sadly disappointed *sigh* hehehehe

I was watching the movie "Evolution" with my guy the other day, you know, the cheesy one with David Duchovny?

There's a part where a woman is walking down a golf course hill to meet a man, who unfortunately (and unbeknownst to her) had discovered a very vicious little creature in a nearby water trap. He starts to run in her direction, they see each other, and then she sees the monster.

Dumela looked at me and said, "He'd better not keep running towards her; he'll train that monster on her."

I almost cried because I was thinking the same thing.

I wish someone would train my boss (and his wife) out of the office today.

Sometimes I look at liscense(sp?) plates on the back of cars and see common abbreviations for tells or items in game and get to thinking about it and laughing.

You want bad, try this.

Yesterday, my mom and my aunt (who's visiting us from far away) asked if I could drive them out to a mall. My mom wanted to visit a really nice cafe there; they have these dancing fountains that are really fun to watch. She said, "We can just sit by the fountain for a bit, have a cup of coffee, and relax."

Honest to God, my first thought was, "Cool, I can practice fishing while medding."

You get remined of your younger days in Crush Bone, Oasis, and your mid level days in EW while watching Lord of Rings. And you get flash backs to trains when the Orcs attack. :D

Your out for a road trip and repeatedly think to your self. " This would be much faster with a port." or (if your main is a porting class), You want to go some places so the first thing you do is thing of the closest druid ring or wizzy spire/platfurm is at.

Your buddy in RL says something that you like and you say "slash agree" (we do this all the time, no thought involved)

You run the risk of hypothermia when it gets cold because, "Hey, Barbarians don't wear shirts!"

You expect a semblance of courtesy from salespeople in RL along the lines of, "a_Old_Navy_Salesperson says 'Hello Soandso, have you seen the new a_half_zipped_pullover I just got in?'"

For those of you in the sales business, how do you greet your customers? ;)

Scowls = I come over and attack

Glares = Come near me for more then 3 seconds, and I attack.

<grin> Leave the nice sales people alone, and no worries.
Come over and ask the dumb question, or be a snotty snit, and you get Glared at.

What a_half_zipped_pullover?

Sorry, if you aren't from the US or if you don't watch a lot of television you might not have got that reference. Old Navy "Evil Trendy Clothing Store" did a series of commercials that resembled the old "Family Fued" game show. They were selling pullover jackets that have a zipper that only goes halfway up, thence a half-zipped pullover.

Did I mention they were evil?

Thats good, and reminded me a few months ago, when I was in my low 20's (21ish?) I was derailing a train by the Orc Scoutsman, I was fighting 4 legos, 3 slavers (or more?), Warden, Scout, and I don't know how many centurions.

I say "sigh" more than I actually sigh now, and frequently say "laugh" (although I've so far avoided saying "laugh out loud"). Camp, nuke, and loot have found their way into common vocabulary, as have most "action" words. They just apply so nicely to RL, where other words fit but not so cleanly.

The peridot abbrevation dot confused me for a long time ... kept wondering why the cleric was talking about Damage over Time ;) Eventually caught on though ... I've heard them referred to as peri's a handful of times, but at least on Tunare that's a rare abbreviation. I call them "peridohs" as well, but still call the abbreviation "dots" ... doesn't make much sense, but oh well.

The primary way EQ has invaded my consciousness is Gate. My main is a melee, but I have a number of caster alts. When I'm sleepy and thinking about a trip or on a trip, and dreading the length, I've actually thought 'At least I'll only have to go one way, I can gate back' (occasionally altered to 'Do I have gate (on this char)? Then I can just gate back which would make this so much better'). Really sucks when I wake up enough to realize I can't gate, or when I try to actually remember HOW to gate and remember this is life, not EQ.

When you are working on a group project and someone says "Write down we are looking for people with the most money." And you write down "We are looking for the people with the most Plat."

You know you play it too much when...

~you are typeing a paper and your group mate says people with a lot of money and you write people with a lot of Plat.

~you start seeing your friend's name about there heads with "guild tags" saying friend, co-worker, classmate...

~you want to send your friend a /tell using a cell phone.

I only care about the size of the disclaimer when you're adding to a research thread. For fun, do as thou wilt, provided you don't break the rules.

Getting a munchie out of the vending machine at work....and noticing that it's number is C3....

Looking at a personalized license plate and thinking of it as a "guildtag"...

Yeah, I have my moments too

One of our accounts at the answering service had a note that the person taking the company phone calls after hours on their cell phone was planning on being OUT OF RANGE that evening.

For a split second, I tried to right-click their name and /con them to see if they were out of range...

Bah, I hate when my EQ habits and my work habits cross...
