View Full Version : + % Fishing items?

I know that various sorts of bait can give you up to +4 or 5% Fishing, and I know there are various poles out there that give +% fishing. Does anyone know where there is a compiled list of the poles and/or other held or worn items? If not, can we start one here? Please list whether it is dropped, quested, or crafted, and as much other information as you feel is pertinent. Perhaps once we get a list together, we can have the House Ogre add it to the Fishing FAQ...
Also, general wisdom hereabouts seems to be that +% tradeskill items do not stack (Geerlock + GM Trophy, e.g.), does this also count with fishing since it is not a pure tradeskill in Verant's eyes?

Three poles I know of:
Aglthin's Fishing Pole - 3% mod. Found in Toxulia Forest
Collapsible Fishing Pole - 5% mod. Tinkered.
Blessed Fishing Rod - 5% mod. Made in Tackle box. Used in PoTC/Solstice quest
And yes... ALL +% mods to skills DO NOT stack - including Fishing. Sorry. :(

There is also that ancient fishing pole +3%, I believe, and also an summoned fishing pole +3% also, I believe (can't remember the name, but you get it with the fisherman's companion... )

As for the Ancient Fishing Pole mentioned by Qallainx, while it does grant enduring breath, it doesn't appear to have +% Fishing.
Does anyone think this is useful?
Should we try something like this for purchased baits with +% fishing (as opposed to the crafted +% baits, which are already detailed in the recipes section)?
Do the mods find this effort worthy of adding to the Fishing FAQ? 8)
Happy Fishing!

The pole you use actually has no effect on how far up you can push your skill. Any fishing pole has the potential to allow you to fish all the way to 200. These particular poles will increase your chances of catching zone-specific fish, as you work your way up.
I'm not sure if Fishing has a 200 hard cap, or if it hard caps at 255 like the other tradeskills, so that using a +5% pole or bait when at 200 will increase you likelihood of success on a Blessed Fishing Rod.
Hope that helps,
Chase

When it comes to fishin' remember that all the poles can/will break from what I've heard. Personally, I love my Fisherman's Companion and the Collapsable Tacklebox. And you be surprised all the fishing grubs you can find stuffed in these little brown bags on the ground. :D
