Why does the apprentice trophy require ceramic bola weights which need drops from high end GoD content? I had realized that I would've just made my way up to 150 and done the next level trophy since it requires no farming, and has several of the same combines as the apprentice one. Did the chunks of taelosion rock guys needed for the bola weights used to be easier to come by or did they just make th apprentice quest much much more difficult than all the others for pottery?

I did the skill level 250 trophy in brewing and all of the farming that did have to be done was easily soloable, why then would the trophy for 100 points lower require high end stuff from GoD?
So now i it looks like I will end up having to skillup to 150 and redo several combines to get the trophy :hurt:.

I think the answer is that when the tasks for the trophies were conceived more attention was given to the trivials of the recipes than the actual source of the components for those recipes.

Ngreth was great about adjusting the tasks where farming the recipes were blatantly out of line with the intended difficulty, but some of the more obscure trophies probably didnt get attention as most people interested in the trophies were already high skill when they were introduced or just didnt worry about them at the lower skill levels where skillups come easier and people werent concerned with their modified skill yet.

I remember initially there were a few drops from GoD key'd zones which many people didnt have viable access to since the content was old when the tasks were introduced or super rare drops from common zones (I still remember the hours I spent trying to get a stone bean before I just paid the inflated bazaar price for one) which were adjusted.

In this case, however, I believe a Chunk of Taelosian Rock is a reasonable farm. They can randomly drop from almost anything in non-key'd GoD zones from Natimbi on up. Thats mid40s to low50s level stuff?

They probably arent as readily available in the bazaar as they used to be but they arent out of reach.

Of course, you can always just cancel the task and reacquire it after 150 skill.

is the list of sources incorrect then? It is showing the only 3 sources to be:
Tipt, Vexd, and Riwwi.

I know for a fact that it can drop in Ferubi, as I have been spending a lot of time in the zone working on a cleric epic 1.5 and for mage epic 1.5/2.0. This is not a keyed zone, but there is a minimum level (not sure, maybe 60?) but I'd think even a couple 60s would be hard pressed to take on that content.

As previously stated I am pretty sure they also drop from Natimbi on up. Drops are common to uncommon, but the table is pretty large so sometimes it takes a while to get the part you need.

Some options include vendor diving in Natimbi (and sometimes Nedaria's Landing if you are lucky) or shopping the bazaar. Also, as I previously mentioned, hook up with someone working on an epic (especially the bloody map piece farming for the cleric epic 1.5) and you might get some pieces that way.

Does it only drop off of mobs with the stone worker model? If so I don't think there are any of those in natimbi anywhere so do you know by chance what drops it in that zone?

Did the chunks of taelosion rock guys needed for the bola weights ....?

Just an FYI

Unfired Ceramic Bola Weight Recipe(s):

Components: Bola Sketch, Clump of Refined Taelosian Clay
In: Pottery Wheel, Tanaan Pottery Wheel

Taelosian Rocks are for fletching only.

and yes, the Chunk of Broken Taelosian Stone Worker drops in the following zones:
Riwwi (Coliseum of Games)
a twisted stoneservant
Tipt (Treacherous Crags)
a coerced granite worker
Vxed (Crumbling Caverns)
coerced granite worker

aye, I meant the rock guys, I could think of their actual name at the time. But I ended up just droping my apprentice quest and doing the freshman one which took about in hour total including getting my jewlcraft to 74 for the pearl, and finding an enchanter to do clays for me. Apprentice one still seems a bit out of line line with the difficulty of the rest of them.

I have asked for suggestions of a replacement at no lower trivial, and only slightly higher that has a DROP. (it must have a drop) and I will consider changing it.

Well the closest one that requires a drop would be Blue Diamond Powder, but that is a component for something else and doesn't make much sense for the trophy. But what you could do is change the recipe for Small Protection Deity to use a dropped gem like a black pearl instead of carnelian. If black pearl is to common of a drop you could use one of the chipped gems from the geods in CC. But I think Block of Clay + Black Pearl + Deity Sketch + Water = unfired deity + firing sheet = small protection deity seems fair and would not have a major impact on anything except making the apprentice trophy a little more fair. If this recipe change is possible but you are looking for something different in the dropped slot let me know and I can look for something more rare / common if you think it is needed.

How about
Blue Diamond Powder
EQ item ID: 23541
Pottery Components: Blue Diamond, Jar of Acid
Trivial at: 83

Sorry Lidone, missed that you had already said this as part of your larger idea. reading with a cat walking in front of my monitor makes it difficult sometimes.

A bit pricey, but I guess a possibility :) I will think on it.
