Wondering if crafters have noticed a significant difference in skill increases with wisdom/intelligence above 255? Say 280, for example.

Well, in the past, someone noticed that skillups where purportional to int or wis.

So, with if you got 10 skillups on 314 combines with 100 int, you'd make roughly 20 skillups with 200 int and 314 combines.

I'd assume that it stays the same after 255. If it was true, 255 to 280 would give you about 10% more skillups, not easy to see.

The new cap is 355 with enough, so going from 255 to 355 is 40% more int -- a difference that might be easy to detect.

I know that it has been noticable in the past... just curious how it is with the expansion. I've noticed times when there were things that seemed to have diminishing returns, particularly stat related things. Like for example the amount of mana you get per point over 200... that sort of thing.

All i can say is that i have made 60 Golden idols of tunare and 80 Star ruby encrusted steins with the uber skill raise of >>0, zero, nil, nada.
And that is with 280wis, so im still not satisfied.

Took me 74 combines to go from 205 to 212 smithing today at 260 INT... /shrug... =) way too small a sample size to be sure, but I'd consider that to be a bit better skill run than normal...... working on raising em all high enough for Grimel's quest as I get caught up on flaggage... =)

Fletching 250
Brewing 250
Tailoring 218
Smithing 212
Pottery 200
Jewelcraft 200
Baking 200

I've had slightly better than normal skillups in the last month, since I got up to 265 int. I suspect higher stats helps some, and I'm pretty sure that it doesn't wrap around and act like 10 int.

For me it seems, that to high stats (higher as your currently maximum cap) may have negative effects, especially if you are higher than 60.

I noticed a very high fail rate at 61 with 269int unbuffed + KEI. When i told a friend about my very high fail rate, he said he noticed the same thing with his jewelry. He said he droped some INT gear, and success rate went up again.

I dropped some INT gear to the next time i was about to smith something (so i had 259int shown) and success rate was ok again.

No clue if we just had bad luck with the RNG or if there is a bug with those "new" stat caps.

Anyway: I notice a higher failrate when someone buffed me KEI and i forget to drop some of my int stuff. And i always thought only the current skill is used to determine your success rate

Oh we are both at 250 skill and have those GM items.

Of course, I'm not going to ask you to try constantly. :D
Neither of us have THAT much money to throw on the high end stuff. :) But yeah, Int/Wis/Str shouldn't have any effect on your success rate. Just sounds like bad luck. :(

Then again, didn't you have a ridiculously higher failure rate with unimbued high end cultural anyway?

I don't know if i was having an extremely bad day or what.
250 skill smith + 265 wis (lvl 62)
Combines on blue diamonds to make armor.

Started with 52 Blue diamonds, ended up with 13 sheets worth of armor and 8 tempers. So lost so far 31 of the 52 blue diamonds. It was not good day.

I currenly have 280 wis and havent noticed much increase. This could be because its not coded in the system to matter yet? Sometimes Varent overlooks things like this.

I could be going bonkers, but I swear I read VI said officially (rather sure in a fanfaire) that stats over 255 do not effect tradeskills.

That is not true. I attended one of the tradeskill sessions at last Fanfair in SF and specifially asked that question to the panel. They said it DOES make a difference to have wis or int above 255 and it scales similar to up to 255.
