Trivial on Opal steins changed?

I am at 201 pottery and got the message that I could no longer advance my skill making the Opal Encrusted Stein. I scrolled back and verified this was on the unfired stein and not the firing.
I did a search of this forum and didn't find any other posts, so sorry if this was already posted somewhere.

Looks like an error to me. I was just doing them last night. Skill 216, no trivial message. No **** skill ups either, but I attribute that to Verant being bastards. And El Nino. Definitely El Nino.

Happened to me once when I accidentally took a laquered pearl that I still had from my combines for the ceramic band instead of the opals.

Nope, I ended up with a lovely Opal stein. Also, I do not have any lacquered pearls in my inventory yet. I did have my pottery geerlok equipped but I didn't think that would affect skill up messages.
I'll ask my friendly enchanter to lacquer a few more opals for me and try again to be sure. I'm sure there are still some guildie alts that could use a stein! :P Thanks all!

I'm not sure if this info will help much, but I was merchent farming in PoK last eve and found 3 unfired opal steins. Bought them up for 2cp a pop and then bought firing sheets and put them in a kiln. The first combine said I created one. It also said I couldn't increase my skill. I thought it was a fluke so I tried it again. Same thing.

happily I now have 3 opal steins, but now must find a new way to work on pottery skill ups I think.

The Firing Skill Level is always MUCH lower than the initial creation stage on the Pottery Wheel.

Maybe the FAQ needs to be clarified about this.

I just finished opal steins 2 days ago. Triv was 222 just as stated in the pottery section.

Made it to 221 on Opal Steins last night, and they are not trivial yet. I will let this thread die now. ;)

I looked, but found no trivial for the final combine with the HQ firing sheet. As luck would have it, a friend was working on the opal encrusted steins, and was dropping the unfired steins on the ground. She told me to go ahead and combine if I wanted to raise my skill.

The point of this reply is, that I found that the trivial for the final firing is 32, if anybody is interested. I realize that the trivial for the unfired stein is much higher, but there it is anyways.
