7th shawl and prayer to Brell

Hi folks,

I'm trying to make the seventh shawl. I'm reciting the prayer, I've checked and triplechecked the spelling, I'm doing it all over the chapel, the room next to the library, and nothing. Anyone have ideas why?

There is a 2 hour "respawn" timer for it, meaning it can't be done for 2 hours after someone does it. This may be your problem.

A few more things to help in troubleshooting, from the 7th Shawl Guide (http://www.eqtraders.com/quests/seventh.htm#drops):

First, go to the Temple of Lore and stand facing the stage. See how there are steps on either side of the stage that lead up to it? Go stand in the area to the left of the stage at the base of the steps on that side. Then recite the prayer that Trademaster Kroven gave to you. Make sure you are saying it in /say and without any misspellings and that you do not have anyone targeted. Don't put it into a hotkey on the five different lines, it must be typed out all in one big long shot. You will get the message "You have been inspired!" and the pattern will appear on the ground in front of the stage...NOT at your feet . There are reports that it is on a two hour timer, so it is possible that you might do everything right and still not get inspired if someone has done it within two hours of you. Try coming back later. Note also that there seems to be a problem getting the pattern to appear if the Grand Historian Thoridain is in his usual spot on the stage. If he is out of place you may need to petition for him to be escorted back before Brell will see fit to provide you with the pattern.

Making sure that nobody was targeted was my problem - I spammed the prayer about a dozen times with no result until I fixed that problem, then was "inspired" on the first try.

Also note that the problem with Grand Historian Thoridain is when he is not in his usual place (there's a typo in the seventh shawl guide).

I recited the prayer successfully, failed my shawl attempt, and then successfully recited the prayer again all within 45 minutes of each other last night.
(Still short blood for a second attempt, though...)

You need to have the Prayer to Brell note from Trademaster Kroven in your inventory or you can not trigger the spawning of the pattern.

That's incorrect. I triggered the pattern for a friend without having the prayer on me (or in the bank).

Okay - NM - had an old guide printed at home from when I started this a year ago. Just noticed new guide has a section on the prayer - don't I feel silly :-)

It might be helpful to update the guide to provide more details on the prayer. I was very confused - recited the prayer in front of the stage to no avail. After using the nifty new windows command, found a site that instructed me to stand on the left stairway (which worked). Just a thought!
