Are there any safe spots to fish from in the Plane of Nightmare?
So far I have made 4 attempts and there have been 4 corpse runs as a result.

the best place i've found is as you enter the gy. u turn right and go to the river part. stay invis if ya got it and con the mobs there. some of them if they are pulled will sometimes see invis. i get lucky most of time and i am able to fish there as long as no one has pulled them mobs that dont see invis. i'm sure there are safer places, if anyone has any put them here i'm up for sugestions

Start from the graveyard. Have SoW, Lev, and Invis up. Follow the zone wall to your left, staying fairly high on the wall. When you see the cliff approaching, stop and veer right at a diagonal. You want to float across the water and downstream a bit, but you cannot run all the way to the cliff edge before heading down or you will agro the hobgoblins. Head for the docks that stick out over the stream, unless someone is pulling to that spot you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck!

I did the fishing in Plane of Nightmare with my 50 druid. I cast sow, lev, and camo on myself and ran down to the docks. It took me 3 stacks of catch-a-lot bait to catch the 2 Nightmare Cichlid. My skill was 92 when i got there, i was over 100 when i caught both of the fish. I got the other two bones from a friend, and that was it. Time to have some ale!

The water fall area is not necessarily safe with invis; there are spiders who see through invis that path by there (or perhaps are kited by, but I've had the issue when it's been very quiet).

On TM we've suddenly had spiders spawn under the docks (seen by me and a different person) which hopefully is a temporary issue as it made fishing impossible. I got permission from a friendly group to fish there and then ended up joining them to deal with the spiders. :)

If there are 140+ in zone (not very often now but was the case when PoP first came out) and people are bitching about KS-ing in ooc, it's pretty safe to fish. If you can camp out next to a decent group or two who are happily clearing the locals, that works too ... make sure they know you are there though so you get a warning if they run/evac.

I didn't know about the "honey hole," will be taking a look tomorrow.

For pure amusement value, here's a link I made for my guild the month after Planes of Power launched: http://mail.britlore.co.uk/~Faymar/postcard.htmlPlanes of Power Postcards!</A>

There are safe spots by the waterfall.

I started fishing here at 46 as a halfling cleric. I used hide at first but eventually found that it was unneccesary. I only ever got aggroed when a kiting druid messed up.

Start at the waterfall on the graveyard side and work downstream a little. there is a bend in the river just before some rocks on this side of the stream. If you stand on the bank close enough to fish you should not find anything passing close enough to aggro you.

Of course if you are alone in the zone (Does that only happen on Kane Bayle?) you are close enough to run to zone if it does go wrong. To get my Nightmare Cichlid I sat there having a fishing competition with a level 65 cleric as some 40 odd people went about their killing chuckling at my ooc commentary. I'm pleased to say that I won and had managed to make 4 sets of bones from the 6 valorian discus he brought with him. Having won I run down to PoK and I believe I was the first to wield Brell's fishing pole.

I equipped it in main for around a month causing much amusement amongst my guild on raids.

Hi!

I'm interested in going fishing in PoN to have some crawdad for my baking (to relieve boredom from HMP). But I've never been to a Plane before...

Do you know any good web site with a map of this zone? wwww.eqatlas.com doesn't have it. would the improuve camo help (don't have it atm)?

From an afraid little halfling

I'm almost certain I've caught some Crawdad in Plane of Tranquility too.... or am I deluded?

All the time I've fished in PoT the only unique fish I've ever caught was Quellian Koi. I'm almost positive you can only catch crawdads in Nightmare and Valor.

Not sure where your baking is at, but note that bttered crawdads triv lower than HMP's do. Buttered crawdads triv at 208.

I discovered a small safe spot on the river, where no mobs path. it's in between where the raves spawn, just downriver from the waterfall, and a clump of rocks. be careful not to go too far downriver as there's a virtual mob highway across the river just past the rocks. the loc is -300, -1500.

good fishing!

You may think I am crazy, however....

When I go fishing on PoN I go over near the Hobgoblins. The only thing on the bank are static spawned Crocs, and they are far enough apart that if you know the agro range on them, you can stand between them and fish! I have only been killed once by this and that was when I got caught up in a kite that got out of control. Oh, and my toon i was doing this with was a Vah Shir Shaman, (yet another good use of that innate sneak ability)

I guess this is why someone suddenly appeared while I was charm killing the Slarghilugs. I make a point of checking track for players before I drag a charmed raven down the cliff, since I know an egress on a charm break could cause someone trouble. And a player suddenly appeared, and then quickly disappeared in the middle of the slargs. No harm done, but a charm break could have been scary.

Having said that, I can verify that both sides of the banks near the hobgoblins are static spawns. And I can attack any of the slarghilugs or hobgoblins without adds. So the aggro ranges are easily manageable.

Of course, at 47, I just fished at the waterfall until I got killed. Only 2 deaths to get my fish. Of course XP is easy at 47, and much harder now at 58.

On that Map pictured above.........is the Graveyard on the West side of the Map or the East Side?
Is there more than 1 Zone Out in PON? I see a ZO on the upper East part of the map....but I thought the ZI/ZO was on the West side.
Does anyone know exactly where the GY is located on that map?

The graveyard is in the west. This is the left side of the map above. Its the brownish box around loc 300, 1500. This is the zone in spot, and also has a PoK marker inside a building for the zone out.

The zone out in the Northeast (upper right on the map) is the marker near the hedge maze.
