Check the recent port on Heavy Clay from the Gorge of King Xorbb.
Unfired these can take you to 242, fired they sell for 1k plus in the bazaar

They sell for less on the EMarr server... no-one seems to know why. Druids & Wiz's I've talked to love em, they just don't want to pay for em.
Skilling up on the unfired ones is a good plan tho, if you can get enough clay.
I have priced mine at 500pp and have yet to sell 1 on Brell.

well, after opal steins you only have a few options
The cheapest at 5pp per attempt is
Cruicibles of Escape
All you have to do is farm Beholders. Heavy clay is 1 of 2 rare drops on muddites. Don't bother firing them unless you have someone wanting the finished product; then make them get the Kunzar Koi
The next cheapest, but goes to 250
Imbued Idols
These cost one imbued gem (any that you can get) 5-105pp but usually about 12pp and a vial of clear mana which cost 14pp and time with an enchanter. DO NOT FIRE THESE, they are garbage and have to be destroyed.
The easiest, but whoh is your pocket book
Star Ruby Encrusted Steins
These cost 70pp each to make. They have a horrible success rate, 1 for 2 at 250 skill, but they have the easiest to aquire ingredient list. Enchanted Clay being the hardest one. To top it off these also have the highest possibility of resale.
The best return on investment
Golden Idol of Tunare
Despite the horrendous cost of components, this little beauty has one of the highest resale values (outside of PoP) and the smallest chance of failure on combine. Almost everyone has burned more of these in the kiln then they have lost to the wheel. Cost is 230pp - 1000pp depending on if you have a chanter in your pocket and wether you get your own iron oxide.
By all means make some port stones when your friends ask for them, but they are as expensive as the golden idol and only succeed 1 in 2 or 3 at 250.

Wow, I'm so glad I stopped in here. Crucibles were one of the first things I made when new stuff went in last May... I got my pottery up to 200 (capped at the time) specifically for that. Made em for my guild, we love em... couldn't sell em for what I considered them to be worth. So I banked the ingredients and forgot about it.
This is a much, much better path than only making steins to keep pace with my sickles and my kit sales. Thanks for the tip!
