Salt Minnow - Anyone fished one? Where?

I'm looking at a quest website for unsolved quests, there is one thread that shows a baking recipie for Ancient Jerky. It requires 2 portions of zombie flesh, one bixie honeycomb, and one salt minnow, dried in an oven.

Anyone seen or heard of a Salt Minnow.

Has anyone ever seen or fished one of these? Where?

I looked on the site, only fish with salt in the name was "Salty Whitefish" in Iceclad Ocean, but you've probably already tried it.

possibly try combining different types of fish (Like a Marr Minnow?) with that salt you can forage in Oasis?

Tried Marr Minnow with 3 or 4 different types of salt in varying quantities.

I highly suspect it's missing from the drop tables. If not, it's ungodly rare. I've fished for several hours in all but a handful of zones from the time I found the Jerky reciepe (Sept or so) and come up empty. Had many friends help me fish as well, and nada.

Ozmandius, do you remember where you got the recipie? What zone and/or what mob?

Never seen one myself, just heard about it.

One website had a recipie, but it seemed to come from the Everquest emulator, so I'm wondering whats up...

I'm quite sure this isn't the answer :)

But, Jheral Alezya in Shar Vahl sells "salted fish". Might be worth a try if you haven't given up yet.

its an unsolved kunark quest, so it really does limit you... its most likely something from kunark, or the old world.

There's also precedent of VI going back and "fixing" old things with new items on occasion (look at alchemy in this last patch). But I agree, most likely not the answer.

in my attempt of finishing the catfish croak sandwich ..i happened to catch one salt minnow.. so i figure it can be caught in cabilis and firona vie

Salt Minnow can also be pulled from the waters of East Cabilis.
Along with Sewer Catfish... bleh
