Dwarven portable Still!

Just my belated Christmas wish list, make it only 6 slots, I don't care, make it 20lbs with a % chance to break on a failed combine...

Just let me brew my Kiola's silently in a corner somehwere. ;)

Anyone got a valid reason this isn't viable?

A spit is just two sticks with a Y cut to them and a pointy stick with a handle for turning it - hardly a sophisticated peice of gear, although it is kinda funny to think about one's character starting small camp fires all over the place in order to bang stuff out - I wander how the merchant I was cooking next to all night last night felt about that? ;)

As for a portable fermentation device - sigh - think of one of those 5 gallon water bottles for the water cooler at work and now imagine carrying that on your back (filled) with the top partially opened (to let out the gasses created by fermentation) - brewing isn't a portable, bang it out anywhere kinda craft - just be happy they don't make us wait two or more weeks game time - imagine having to wait a full year game time to bang out a descent wine or mead? ;)

Well, there is a quest with a portable brew barrel...

As for the gallons of water etc. thats the 20 weight thing, doesn't translate directly to LBS. Could be heavier I guess.

Remember the one in their tent on MASH?

My bet is they could pack that up, and set it up again in 10 minutes. Just looked delicate, so I could see it breaking or exploding from a bad batch, hehe.

Guess new ideas aren't really valid in a 4 year old game, but I still think it is just as realistic as a spit.

Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full.

Stills are fairly delicate objects. They require fairly precise temperature control. Don't forget that during the process of distillation (quite different from fermentation), that the resultant product is fairly... explosive.

MASH was funny, and their still was neat, but I'm not sure that a campy 80's sitcom prop is a viable basis for RL comparisons....

There is a portable 4 slot container capable of brewing any drink that akes 4 slots to brew, it's part of the Aid Grimmel quest in the quest section, but can be used to brew other stuff then Twice Brewed Kaladim.

Yup - you should see me on the grill in the summer time - I'm useless in a full kitchen, but given an open flame, some pointy sticks and a sheet of tin foil and I'll cook you up a five star meal. Spits/charcoal grills are some of the few RL magical items left. ;)
