Brewing tradeskill trophy

Just made my 6th and final attempt at brewing tradeskill trophy. This is just plain ridiculous that you can have 250 skill brewing and fail six times.
So 30k down the drain for nothing. Thank you Verant.

I know how you're feeling, I've failed 6x before I eventually made my trophy at 250 skill too.

While it really does suck, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's failed this blasted trophy 6 times with 250 skill :( Someday I'll try again!

I went thru 3 failures, and made mine on the 4th attempt, so I know it's frustrating as all heck

I just made my Brewing Trophy.
Heard horror stories of it failing many times in a row, so had saved up the materials to retry it like 5 times if I failed. fortunately they weren't needed :shock:
And yes I know I was very lucky. Even if I had to redo it those 5 times though still think it would have been worth it, its a dam nice toy.

got mine on my second try, same as with my baking trophy... granted, I did try brewing at 246 skill (first attempt skilled up to 246, hehe), while I tried baking at 226 skill (both with geerloks).

I made mine on my 5th attempt.

It really wouldn't be that bad if Brewing weren't so much more expensive than the other tradeskills.

Corking Device > smithy hammer, dairy spoon, and everything else put together.

Not to mention that I had to buy a 6th Corking Device to brew with. :D

I had just dumb luck then. I made mine on my first try at a skill of 223.

Erf - I've only been able to afford one shot to date but the @#$% kiln at it on me during the last firing - never even got to try to combine it in my tradeskill container. :(

Okay, you guys have me worried now. I’m at 233 brewing and I’m hoping to have the materials gathered for a shot at my trophy by the time I hit 248. But after reading about all the failures I’m getting nervous. And I thought the corking device was only eaten if the combine was a success, but after reading one of the posts it seems its eaten with a failure too. I’m not made of money! I’ve never been very good at gathering coins. So if my first attempt isn’t a success it’s going to be a long time before I can try it again. Now I’m not sure if I’m looking forward to trying to make my trophy or dreading it.

Wow, I feel for you guys. I have been extremely lucky I guess. Pottery trophy 1/1 at 220 skills. Brewing trophy 1/3 at 250 skills (this one hurt since each required a corking device). JC trophy 1/2 at 250 skills. So, my average is so far 1/2 which is what I expect that the be average for most. Maybe it's lower success rate and I have been lucky but I would tend to think 1/2 is about average for all trophies. Just keep trying, I am sure you will get it soon. FYI, I tried all my efforts in one sitting. My superstition is that you will be more likely to succeed when you try several tries at once rather than trying it one at a time.

I went 1/3 on my brewing trophy last night, then 0/1 on a smithing trophy. And a friend went 0/1 on a pottery trophy but got a skillup on it at least.

Yes that is correct. You lose everything. :cry: I guess I was lucky compared to most here. I failed on my first and was successful on the second. It was rough though. This was my first trophy attempt and I almost /q-ed when I failed. I only had enough coins to do it twice so I was very glad to have made the second one. :D And I waited until I hit 250, got a full load of shammy buffs, KEI, geerlok, finger crossing, praying to Brell, etc. Then just stared in disbelief when I failed. Then I was almost afraid to hit the combine on the second attempt, lol.

If it will be that devastating to fail for you, all I can say is don't try it.

Seriously, I scrimped and saved for a very long time before I could try it... and when I failed it was devastating. I was down 6k (bought seal for 5k, corking device for 1).

It took me a month to recover financially, for the 6k I could have bought a lot of things, at the time I had nothing worth that much. My whole outfit could be found in bazaar for under 6k I think.

I did try again when I have a bit more saved up 2 months later, and succeeded, but I would suggest waiting til you can afford to lose the money, seriously.
