Here in New Zealand as we are at the other end of the world we seem to be last in getting new software. This doesn't bother me I can put up with that and patiently wait for when PoP is released here. What really annoys me is the way the ratings are done here. The day PoP was released here I went down the shop to pick up my copy and what I was told by the store manager left me amazed.
All the copys had been taken off the shelf and recalled because the ratings sticker was incorrect as the copies were bought from a different distributer. Now the Distributer for Australia and New Zealand has decided not to send us any copies at all or the legal rating stickers as the original copies were not bought off of them. Now the law states here that if anyone is in the possession of an unrated game that needs a rating then they can be fined $30,000 which is why the store had to immediately remove them and recall all the copies they could. So now I am stuck in a dilemma. It looks like we may never get PoP here legally for a very long time. I could buy it off the net, but then I am breaking the law as it will not have the NZ rating sticker on it and could be copped with a fine. Any of those that live in New Zealand that managed to get their copy before the stores realised their mistake, you guys are lucky, I wish you all the best.

Cheers

We here in the UK have paid for our impatience... we just received the Customs charge for the two copies we ordered due to the optimistic release date of December over here. /sigh

Do you have a broadband connection?

Send a money order, check, or even a paypal payment to a friend in the US with Broadband.

They send you the key and the needed files via email. Or the just email you the key , and post the files to their website where you can download them.

Sigh - and what pray tell is so horrid about having a video game without a rating on it that it's a $30k fine?!?!? Besides, I thought all the boxes had a rating on them anyway noting that it had animated violence, idiots/d00ds and scantily clad elf chicks? :)

Not a problem anymore, my wife managed to get me a copy for Christmas :D :D :D
Apparently she has been on the phone for a couple of weeks trying very hard to get me a copy.
No complaints now :)

You can buy it from an Australian site and have it shipped to NZ. I checked the HELP and they DO ship to NZ. It says a 4 week delay on PoP but I got my copy within 1 week so I think that is old info.
It won't cost you as much as buying + shipping from the usa.

Well, in Christchurch, The Gamesman have PoP in stores now... maybe for the last 2 weeks or so?

But after 2 weeks after PoP release it wasn't coming in, I just phoned up a friend in Australia, got the codes and downloaded PoP from the Patcher.

Best move I ever made

Well look at it this way. You people got to have the LOTR movies made there. ;) Lucky peeps! Do you actually have the kind of views you see in those movies near where you live? I can't imagine!

Yes, I'm driving this WAY off topic, but I just got back from seeing Two Towers and it's fresh on my mind. ;)
