Last night I hit 195 tailoring then the server crashed. Lost all 3 points I made and didnt make a single point when I did the combines again. Gah you have to hate when this happens. :( :(

Guess its kind of like the "win drop you need for epic on a raid" thing, immediately camp out when that high since you made some progress, this saves you.
Contrary to popular belief, zoning is not enough to always force a save. I've had the server crash and been 3 zones behind where I was before it crashed. camping then coming back in, from char select, forces one for sure.

I believe that trading an item with someone (trade 1cp for 1sp or something) will also force a save...but camping "feels" safer and certainly doesn't take long.

That definately sucks :( if you're nearby any merchant just open the window until you see the saved message, works for me. Goodluck

VI has stated that only camping out forces a hard save. That save message you see otherwise is just a write to the cache files, so going LD will usually mean you won't lose the data, but the server physically crashing means yer SoL 90% of the time.

None of that stuff works - I lost two points of baking from 192 knocking me back to 190. I had gotten the last skill up with plenty of combines left to do, I had then headed from Rivervale to Highpass to knock out some more Jumjum beer (thus zoning, buying and selling), got jumped by an orc or three and even looted them for the chance of scalps, then gated back to Rivervale and did a real camp.
It's just some kind of glitch in thier system that they don't want to fess up to - "WE did everything right, obviously you stupid, ignorant, gulible players must be doing something incorrect on your end in order to cause yourselves this problem."
